STEEMHOP LEADER BOARD GRINDđ

Man Steemhop is one of those games that looks cute but will stress you out in 10 seconds flat. Youâre controlling this little white cube with a red stripe, and the whole point is just to keep moving forward through this crazy desert-looking map without getting smashed. The screen is all isometric so you can see the roads, the train tracks, and these little rocks and trees scattered around. Top left shows your score and "TOP 52" so you know people are grinding hard, and top right thereâs a timer running. I started at 5 and was already nervous because the cars donât wait for you. Purple cars and orange cars just flying across lanes and if you mistime one hop youâre done. The website http://steemhop.org is right there at the bottom too so you know itâs all browser-based and quick to jump into.
The train section is where I almost rage quit. Youâve got these long brown tracks cutting across the map with red and white barriers and actual trains coming through. In one clip I was at score 6 and tried to cross right as a purple train passed, barely made it. Then a second later another one comes and if you donât watch the timing you just get flattened. Thatâs what happened when my score hit 13, I got caught and the big STEEM HOP logo popped up with the restart button. It resets you back to 0 but the timer keeps going so you feel that pressure to climb fast. The worst part is the cars donât stop either. Youâll be dodging an orange car on the road and then boom, a purple one comes from the other lane. Itâs all about rhythm and not panicking.
What makes it addictive though is how simple it is. Thereâs no complicated controls, just tap to hop forward and left/right. But the map keeps throwing new stuff at you. Sometimes youâre on open sand with rocks and trees, sometimes youâre on a multi-lane road with traffic, sometimes youâre balancing between train tracks. I got up to score 7, died, then back to -2, then climbed again to 3 and 4. Every time you die that blue screen with the big orange STEEM HOP text shows up and you just immediately want to hit play again. The music buttons and sound buttons are there on the side too, and that little chicken icon in the corner makes it feel even more casual even though the gameplay is sweaty.
I kept playing because I wanted to beat my high score and get out of TOP 52. You can see the timer ticking down from 2:00 and it makes you play faster than you should. One run I made it to 11 before a car clipped me, another time I only got to 1. The game doesnât care. It just throws more cars, more trains, more obstacles at you. But thatâs Steemhop. It looks like a chill little arcade game with bright colors and blocky graphics, but once you start youâre locked in trying to get one more hop, one more point. If you havenât tried it yet just go to http://steemhop.org, but be warned, youâll say "one more try" like 20 times.

THANKS FOR VISITING
