Jealousy, Heavy Rain / Tuesday / Before the Storm

Jealousy

It is a sad reality, especially in the workplace, that when someone tries to progress, others try to pull them back. I frequently hear stories about Filipinos working abroad whose own countrymen try to bring them down just as they are succeeding. This is highly toxic behavior, often referred to as "crab mentality." Driven by jealousy and a desire to be on top, these individuals simply cannot bear to see others winning in life.

Heavy Rain

We have experienced heavy rainfall over the past two days. The threat of flooding is deeply worrying; in fact, the ground floor of our house is already leaking and waterlogged. Fortunately, we have a second floor where we can safely stay. However, going downstairs remains inconvenient since walking around in rain boots is quite difficult. The forecast predicts rain for the entire week, but I am trying to stay hopeful despite the risk of widespread flooding.

Tuesday

Although it rained again overnight, it was not as intense as the previous night. The ground floor remains flooded, but thankfully, our water pump is helping manage the water level. We experienced more downpours today, though they were less severe than yesterday morning. I am eagerly waiting for the sun to come out so my laundry can dry.

Before the Storm

Just a week ago, we were basking in the beautiful sunshine. At the time, my wife, an in-law, friends, and I went swimming at Old Rock. We had a wonderful time together!
