Splinterlands Art Contest Week 249!: Hero of the Beyond

Lately, I've been more into writing articles than drawing. Yesterday, I felt the itch to draw again, so I've decided to join the Splinterlands art challenge again.

I'm not really good at drawing; it's just that I love to draw and color.

My Entry

The character that I've decided to draw today is the Hero of the Beyond, holding the head of a vampire.

The Hero of the Beyond is an Epic Life Card with a ranged attack. Its ability is that it can battle in close range, even though it is a ranged attack.

Here are the steps on how I created my art:

Step 1: The draft
First, I created a draft of how my art would look like. I wanted the Hero of the Beyond to hold the vampire's dead head.

Step 2: Coloring
The first thing I did was create the base colors. I call them base colors because they are the main colors I will use.

After the base colors, I started shading. In shading, you need to get the light and dark tones of your base color and use them to highlight the image, so it looks alive.

Step 3: Making it animated

I didn't create the background because I wanted it to have an animated effect. What I did was download a free-to-use video from Pixabay.

I uploaded my image in DaVinci Resolve Studio and put the background behind it. I added some transitions and effects. After that, I saved it as an MP4 file.

Since I cannot upload MP4s on Peakd, I need to convert it to a GIF. To convert it to a GIF, you need to upload it to Giphy and get the link that you can paste on your Peakd post.
