Punishing folks because they don't know that voting after 24 hours is penalized just doesn't sit right with me.
And it is counterproductive to the social aspect. We should be encouraging people to engage and curate with content as much as possible and whenever possible. The entire voting scheme needs revisited.
Voting (hitting 'Like' buttons) is not real curation! We need to reward REAL curation and real engagement, not just hitting 'like' buttons.
Somebody wants to like a post great, but that shows no proof of brain, no work, no effort, no contribution at all. Here on the Hive blockchain a vote means nothing to me because most are auto-votes that come with absolutely no eyeballs or engagement.
I want to see it coded to where only votes accompanied with comments on the post receive curation rewards, or acoompanied with a reshare on another social media platform or blog is rewarded. THAT IS TRUE CURATION!
I think we can do better.
It will be up to the older users to guide the newbs and together make what the hive is going to be.
If we can establish customs, that will help.
