The Camden Market Free Art Man 29th April 2026
Some footage at the start of the packed up display on the 134 bus from Muswell Hill down to Camden. Filmed during the narrow window after morning rush hour but before all the pushchairs. This was the same day at The Camden Market Free Art Man as my last post about crypto social Blond Cards. I only managed to give one of those away but here's the full video and interviews of the passers by who took some of my other work.
The French grafitti artist came up to me later and showed me a drawing of David Bowie she had just done on the Camden Lock wall on the other side of the road. I should have filmed it. Also off camera, I gave the family who did their interview in French an extra painting. They chose one of the Heckel's Horse-Heckel's Horse Jr double portrait mugshot paintings.
Thankfully one of my now regulars took another large painting. The large ones are the hardest to get rid of. I was only there half a day, as I met up with a friend so packed up early and took him round to Maddarings where Shelley, my ex-wife works. She's kindly selling some of my Blond Cards and I had some new ones of Amy Winehouse to replace the few she's already sold.
Two Polish punk rockers took a zine and a Black Ivory poster. One was a musician, the other a writer. I like the idea of my work being up one their walls as they're trying to build a punk community where there currently isn't one. This was the first day of having flags of Portugal, Italy, Germany, France and Spain with instructions in each language. There were also some extras in case someone wanted to take one as an artwork. No one did, and I didn't notice anyone show any interest in them. Usually my signage is popular. I thought these would be as they're colourful, pop arty and small. Here's the flags on show:
I'll be at Camden again today as the weather's good and this weekend's forecast for rain. The most popular of the new ranges were the pink Anarchy for Art text paintings. This could work out well as the manifesto's on the back. The Free Art Free Art movement and Anarchy for Art are all one and the same. Nature's order isn't disorder.
