A Few Songs I Came Across Recently (Three Tune Tuesday)
It's #TTT and I've been waiting for the last couple of days to make a post about a couple of tunes that have been on my mind since coming across them recently, well, the first two are new discoveries, and the final one is kind of a rediscovery.
The Scratch - Another Round
This song came out about a year ago, and I have no idea how it flew under my radar, but I really like it.
I think the song has some great energy, and the vocals are amazing, the fact that he can sing so fast, and mix that with the instruments which carry the song forward, it really keeps the tempo kicking and turns it into a real bop.
The video that accompanies the song is also really well done, and I love half way through the song where we reach a crescendo, and the whole song almost breaks down and transitions into a rock style and it sounds like the lads are jamming it out and having some fun.
The Scratch is a brilliant band, and as far as I'm concerned one of the top Irish bands to come out in the last couple of years.
Slutever - Maggot
I came across this band, well, this song recently. I was watching a video on Instagram and this was over it, and a while after watching the video the song was stuck in my head and I had to go back and find it.
Now, I haven't had a chance to listen to much of Slutever's other songs, but if they sound like this, I may have just found a new band I like.
I have no idea where they're from, but if I had to guess, I would say America, and maybe the East Coast, I think they have an LA Rock vibe, it's got a bit of grunge and ever through the heavy effects and distortion there is something really good about it to me, and it gets stuck in my head.
Well worth checking out if you're into punk, grungy, rock kind of stuff.
The Soft Pack - Answer To Yourself
Here's one that I actually found through being on the soundtrack for GTA V and I really liked it back then, and through Slutever I ended up going back through those songs to find a few gems.
To be fair, GTA always choose some great songs and bands for their games, and I think this one fits in well to kind of set the tone for Los Santos, and to be fair, I'd say that Slutever would fit right in with all of the bands chosen for the Vinewood Boulevard Radio Station in-game.
I really like this one, and find it kind of inspirational in a way, especially if you're an artist of any kind, but especially for anyone who's been, or is in a band, who kind of isn't getting anywhere fast.
That's it for today, but before I leave this post, I figured I would take the opportunity to talk about the band I'm in, specifically, the cover band, who are currently going under the name, The Undercovers, we've been using that for a while and it's really just a placeholder name until we find something better.
So, things have been slow on the music front, these last few months have been hectic and the cover band has been on a slight hiatus while I got myself fixed into the new routine. But, I'm delighted to say, we are jamming tonight at 6:30 and will officially be blowing the cobwebs off the set, and get back out there.
As well as this, we'd really like to get a few recordings done, and a few videos, nothing too fancy, just performance pieces to use as a showreel, and on top of that, we'd like to get a photo shoot of some type done. These are things we had planned, but never got around to it, no time like the present and all that, so now's as good a time as any.
Finding new tunes, nice. Punk rock mixed with seventies sound was pretty good with Slutever.
Too right, I really like that one, I'm going to check out that album of theirs Almost Famous, I'm sure there'll be more good tunes on it.
Sharing here or my sons playing music is the only way I hear the later sounds, us oldies stick to bands we knew mostly !LOLZ

Fun songs this week! They usually are, coming from you. That poor dude in Another Round. 😂 He makes me want to have a sympathy smoke with him, and I haven't had one in 26 years.
Good to hear the band is getting back together! Undercovers is a great name. Hope you have a great time!

All new bands and music to me, so that's cool. I am enjoying seeing what people put up for TTT.
Hope it goes well with the band. Mine could have a gig in September, so we'd better polish the songs a bit more :)

The Scratch - Another Round -- absolutely love this, everything about it, the video, the tempo, the singing, the lyrics, top stuff man and relatively unknown with 78K views only..
Enjoyed the other two shares too, but The Scratch were quality and I remember you sharing 'The Flaker' before which was a good tune too. They'd be worth seeing live I'd say..
Nice one man, I hope that went well for ye, great to be back playing I'm sure!
