This announcement of winners for the MemeHive curation contest is for 18 January 2026. I am six days late. When I was about to publish on 19 January, the Memehive frontend didn't work. I had difficulty retrieving the posts from 13 January. It's good that this time the frontend is working just fine.

In selecting eligible articles, I intentionally avoid controversial accounts, those downvoted by Hiveans who have been on the chain four to five years longer than me. I assume they know what they're doing. Moreover, I also skip those who talk big, but their HP tells otherwise. If you want to get a bigger voice, back it up with your purse.

Turning our attention to the outcome of last week's curation contest, the first article is from @tanzil2024. He showcased the beauty of the Huairou district in Beijing. You will observe that his photos are all green. They are good to the eyes, and they feel refreshing because you can see life and growth. His post got 2 reblogs, 8 comments, and 104 upvotes.

The second article is from @princessluv. I could relate to her story. If you are a nobody, it is exceptionally rare that people pay attention to your ideas no matter how sensible they are. But if you are in a position of power, people pay attention to your words, even though they might sound irrelevant and ridiculous. I think that's the reality of being human. However, if you are an exception, your innovative ideas matched with perseverance might be recognized in the end. Her post got 5 likes and 2 comments.

The third entry is from @ladyaryastark. Her article is more philosophical in character. Even though I agree with the quote about hard times creating strong men, we cannot make an absolute rule out of it. I still favor the idea of relative peace and stability that provides a fair environment for everyone to thrive. However, reality runs contrary to this ideal world. Many power-hungry individuals are opposed to competing in such a fair environment. Her post received 2 reblogs, 119 upvotes, and 4 comments.

The theme of our fourth content creator is not easy to digest. I find it relatable and emotional. Reading the post, it seems that the blogger is reading my mind. He talks about honesty and transparency in relationships. I share the fear that expressing your true feelings to your loved ones might hurt and alienate them, and that is why, to keep the relative peace, we tend to keep our pain to ourselves. We prefer to suffer alone rather than confront our loved ones that give and take is a must for any relationship to grow and thrive. @ronnie10's post got 80 upvotes.

The last, but not the least, is from @daverick. My first impression in looking at his article is that it sounds futuristic, a favorite theme in sci-fi movies today. The use of cutting-edge technology in military advancement is unavoidable. However, if such military power were to be weaponized to enforce the will of one nation over other nations, that's the time humanity will suffer the misuse and abuse of such weapons, not only in the quantity of human casualties but also in the loss of wealth and property that could be used instead for other productive ends. His post received 49 likes and 16 comments.
