Hi! A great day to all members of the MemeHive tribe! Today is the announcement of winners for the MemeHive Theme Curation Contest Week 2.

Judging Outcome and Rewards

When it comes to humor, all the entries appear serious to me. @pepetoken's entry has 102 upvotes, 22 comments, and 1 reblog, and that's the reason his post received 20 points in engagement. @mintymile won the presentation criterion due to the time and effort in creating images and producing 883 words.

Based on the above criteria, it seems obvious that @ieronimus lags behind. Nevertheless, if subjectivity will be the basis for the judging process, I will pick his article as the winner, for I love the lyrics and tune of his music. Check and try listening to the video he uploaded and see if it will suit your taste. For me, I consider it gold. Moreover, that's the good thing about having clear criteria because objectivity can still be maintained.

Lastly, as mentioned during the last week's winner announcement, subjective intervention will only play a part once two entries receive similar scores. Both @pepetoken and @babygirl888 receive 96 points, and so to break the tie, I increased the latter's engagement by 0.5 to receive 18.5.

Given all the foregoing considerations and based on the above criteria, the winners for last week's curation contest are

  • 1st Place: @mintymile with a 99% final score and will receive 4,000 MEME.

  • 2nd place goes to @babygirl888 with a 96.5% final score and will receive 2,000 MEME.

  • 3rd place goes to @pepetoken with a 96% final score and will receive 1,000 MEME.

And since we only have four entries for this week, only @ieronimus will receive the 500 MEME consolation prize. The remaining 500 MEME in the prize pool will be reserved for next week's contest.

It was good that @greywarden100 already sent the 8,000 MEME to my Hive Engine wallet two days ago, and so I can send the prizes to the winners immediately.

Here are the four chain transactions for the prizes:

A big thanks to @greywarden100 for sponsoring this curation contest. So far, he distributed 14,000 MEME tokens for this community activity.

Congratulations to all the winners!

Thank you for all your entries! I hope to see your post in the next curation contest.

More power to the MemeHive community!

Should we increase the rewards? Or do you think this seems fair?

Everybody loves higher rewards. However, let us just keep the current reward level for now and observe the response of the community to this contest for at least a month.

Thank you for the mention and price…

For clarification purposes
What qualifies a post as a meme post?

I want to see at least five things:

  • Image originality or properly credited.

  • Include at least a 50-word explanation. The longer, the better.

  • Using the hashtag #MEME

  • As for the community where you publish your post, use either the Meme Tribe Community on PeakD and other Hive front ends, or the MemeHive frontend itself. However, I observe that this is not easy to implement for Hivians are used to publishing posts using the hashtag #meme on their favorite community. Since this contest is just 2 weeks old, I am still observing when we can implement this.

  • Lastly, theme choice. There is freedom in choosing a theme. However, I prefer memes related to crypto market crashes, Hive vs. Web2, and bear vs. bull markets.
