But what do they mean? Why them? What is it all about?

In fact, I don’t even understand the non-fungibleness here: Wikitionary tells me “not interchangeable.” Please can you explain further?

Is it a new coin or what?

O well, NFT isn’t a crypto coin, like some would think.

It is a digital asset that represents objects in the real-world like: art, images, music, in-game assets, video and historical items.

Let’s try to understand and decipher the mysteries surrounding NFTs. Let's take it step by step with this example:

You know the famous ORIGINAL oil painting of Leonardo da Vinci, THE MONA LISA, right?

Yes, eggsacklee (exactly)!

This grand piece of artistry was painted between the years 1503 and 1519 (I think I was born by that time 😎). Right now, it hangs on a special area in the Louvre Museum, Paris.

Yes, there are so many replications and “fake” paintings, but it cannot replace the ORIGINAL PAINTING.

The value of the Original Mona Lisa painting today is priceless.

In blockchain game, you can either win or purchase some available assets in the game like: Guns, Game Characters, Game Cards of various rarity, upgrading your assets or having a Land Owner Title (yea, you can own a land in a game – this is a whole level in gaming world).

And these assets are undoubtedly NFTs.

These items can be used in the game, they can be rented out to other players for a fee (your passive income) and they can be auctioned in the game marketplace at a higher price (massive income).

Imagine winning a digital asset in a game and you are able to sell it at $200 or $1000 at the Game’s market place.

Huge right?

Another beauty of NFTs, just like crypto, is that when that asset is scarce and the need for it increases, you can auction and sell your item at $2000. Pere! And you get your coins in the native token or other crypto coin.

Here, on Hive, we are privileged to have a host of many active Blockchain games and many games in development, all built on Hive Blockchain. Such that we are the first and immediate beneficiaries in earning on this game.

It is also easier for those on Hive to relate with the components and Market places of these games. Those in other blockchains have to rely on bridges (Bridging Hive to Eth or Bsc) or be onboarded to Hive before they can enjoy the full benefits of the game (especially in this transaction-free blockchain).
