A Place That Brings You Comfort

Many times we think comfort comes from the material goods that surround us—leather armchairs, king-size beds, feather pillows, climate-controlled rooms, refined décor, and things of that sort.

But what few people recognize is that it’s not so much the place, the furniture, the decoration, or the architecture of a house that makes a space truly comfortable.

What really makes us feel at ease is almost always the hospitality, warmth, and affection of the people in that place.

Hospitality is always more important than material things, and it’s a quality not tied to monetary wealth, but to the kindness and generosity of people.

In my country, Paraguay, foreigners often admire the hospitality they receive from my fellow citizens. And paradoxically, it’s usually the most humble people who offer the greatest hospitality. Despite the poverty they may live in, they will always offer you their best seat, the best food they have, and even their beds if you need to stay the night.

This quality makes people feel comfortable and welcome, whether they are strangers or lifelong friends. It’s common in my country to offer this kind of hospitality to anyone who arrives at a home.

In my particular case, the place that brings me comfort will always be wherever my family is, regardless of the house or location.

We’ve had better economic times, but regardless of money or the lack of it, I always feel comfortable near my family, which is my safe and cozy corner in the world.

That’s why, dear friends of #IndiaUnited, I hope you have the luck and blessing of having a safe and comfortable place to rest from any tribulation you may face and to be happy—because this world can sometimes be very cruel and other times very stressful, and we all need that special place.

¿Un lugar que te brinda comodidad?

Muchas veces pensamos que la comodidad está dada por bienes materiales que nos rodean como sillones de piel, camas tamaño King, almohadas de plumas, ambientes climatizados, decoración refinada y cosas por el estilo.

Pero lo que pocas personas reconocen es que no es tanto el lugar ni los muebles ni la decoración ni la arquitectura de una casa lo que hace cómodo o confortable un ambiente o lugar.

Lo que nos hace sentir realmente cómodos es casi siempre la hospitalidad, la calidez y el afecto de las personas que están en ese lugar.

La hospitalidad siempre es más importante que lo material, y es una cualidad que no está ligada a la riqueza monetaria, sino a la bondad y amabilidad de las personas.

En mi país, Paraguay, los extranjeros suelen admirar la hospitalidad que reciben de mis compatriotas, y paradójicamente suelen ser las personas más humildes las que te ofrecen una mayor hospitalidad y a pesar de la pobreza en la que viven siempre te ofrecerán su mejor asiento, la mejor comida que tengan, e incluso sus camas si hay que quedarse a dormir.

Esta cualidad hace que las personas se sientan cómodas y bienvenidas, sin importar si son extraños o se conocen de toda la vida, y es usual que en mi país se ofrezca este tipo de hospitalidad a cualquier persona que llegue a una casa.

En mi caso particular, el lugar que me brinda esa comodidad siempre será donde esté mi familia, sin importar el lugar o la casa en la que estemos.

Hemos tenido mejores épocas en cuanto a la economía, pero sin importar el dinero o la falta de él, siempre me siento cómoda cerca de mi familia, que es mi rincón seguro y confortable en todo el mundo.

Por eso queridos amigos de #IndiaUnited, espero que tengan la suerte y la bendición de contar con un lugar seguro y cómodo donde descansar de cualquier tribulación que pudieran padecer y ser felices, porque este mundo puede ser a veces muy cruel y otras muy estresante, y todos necesitamos ese lugar especial.
