Creative Sunday: Drawing the Visiting Owl / Domingo Creativo: dibujando al búho que nos visita

The Sunday is almost over, and around 5 pm, I decided to participate in the #CreativeSunday challenge. Since I thought drawing wasn't so bad when I was in school, I grabbed paper and pencil to create my piece for today. After almost 30 years without drawing anything, it got complicated, and it took me longer than planned.

First, I drew the sketch with a pencil, then outlined the edges with a black colored pencil. Next, I started coloring the image - the tree trunk 🌳 in brown, and the flowers in pink, since this tree is a pink lapacho, or "tajy" in Guarani. The owl was tricky because I wanted to paint it gray, but I didn't have that color, and painting it brown again seemed too dark. So, I left it like an albino owl.

The idea for the background was to make it look like a sunset, so I used orange crayon and completed it with a purple colored pencil. The moon was supposed to be orange, like during a drought, but it's hard to recreate nature. So, in the end, this is the drawing I came up with, and I hope you like it. I admit that I'm only sharing it because it took me many hours, and I'm a bit embarrassed.*

El domingo casi termina y sobre las 17 horas se me ocurrió participar del #CreativeSunday, y como pensaba que dibujar no se me daba tan mal en la escuela, me dispuse a tomar papel y lápiz para realizar mi obra para participar hoy.

Después de casi 30 años sin dibujar nada, la cosa se puso complicada, y me llevó mas tiempo del planeado.

Como primer paso dibujé a lápiz de papel el bosquejo, luego pinté los bordes con lápiz de color negro.

Seguido empecé a colorear la imagen, el tronco del árbol 🌳 en marrón, y luego las flores en rosa, porque este árbol es un lapacho rosado, o "tajy" en guaraní.

El buho se me complicó porque quería pintarlo de gris, pero no tenía ese color, y pintarlo de nuevo en marrón me parecía que sería demasiado sombrío. Asi que lo dejé como si fuera un búho albino.

La idea del fondo era que pareciera un atardecer, para lo cual usé crayola naranja, y completé con lapiz de color lila.

La luna debía ser naranja como cuando hay sequía, pero bueno, es difícil recrear la naturaleza.

Así que al final quedó este dibujo, que espero les guste. Admito que solo porque me llevó muchas horas lo presento, porque me da como un poco de vergüenza.
