Hello world and fellow Hivers

I'm back writing for Gods Unchained after two weeks and I am sorry for the delay, but the previous weekend event did not go as expected because I didn't even play 5 games because I had plenty of work in my day job. Anyway, in today's post, we are going to review my progress in the weekend event and I am going to share some thoughts about the new update I did in my old deck and the reason I chose to return to playing this deck. Also, I will show you the packs I opened from the rewards of the previous weekend's event and from leveling up. As always I will share a couple of battles with you from my grinding and we are going to examine what happened and highlight the decisive moments in each video. So kick back and enjoy!

Thoughts about the results

As you can see, I get 9 wins out of 18 which translates to a 50% win rate. Obviously, I can't tell whether this run is a complete disaster or a really good one. The sure thing is that I am not satisfied with this result and my goal is at least 13 wins to grab that sweet legendary pack. To be honest, I really believe that the deck I used has potential because in many games I lost I was pretty close to winning and I believe with one or two extra cards I could push easily for more wins. Also, I want to highlight that the Diamond league is getting a lot harder lately. As a player that plays the game for quite some time, I noticed that couple of months ago it was pretty easy to be a Mythic/Diamond player and sustain at that rank for a longer period. Diamond has become pretty challenging and it has a lot more experienced players that understand the game better.

This deck is more stable than any other Light deck that I tried and I want to be honest with you I believe that it has potential. Also, I had a lot of fun playing this deck and that is always important for me. As always the secret behind any Aggro/Midrange/Buff deck is at keeping control over the board and it's definitely going to be challenging against some classes. I got into a lot of trouble against Magic and Deception but I believe that next weekend's event is going to be better.

Most Valuable Card Award

This card I believe was one of the nicest addition to the deck and I truly believe that took this deck one level upward because it gives more resilience to the deck. Of course, we are going to watch all of that in action in the videos below but before that, I wanted to highlight that this card was the Most Valuable Card (MVC😂) at certain games and saved me from a lot of trouble or made my game easier. I highly recommend using it if you run with a similar deck! Please leave your thoughts or your experience with this card in the comments below!

These are the rewards that I opened and I was very excited this time with the cards I got. Keep in mind that the majority of the packs I opened were regular rare packs so I gotta say that lady luck was on my side this time. Let's begin with the first Legendary Lokian Disciple I didn't have seen that card in action but the effect it has it's pretty interesting. The second one was Animon Pustuland Impslough, and this is the first time also I saw that card and I don't really know if it's playable in some meta deck. Anyway, I'm always happy that my collection grows bigger each week and that is one of the reasons that I still play GU.

Watch the Action!

The first thing I would like to say is a big thank you for all of your support because the number of views on youtube videos is increasing steadily. The previous battle has 72 views and it's a great thing for me. To be honest it's not that I want publicity on youtube because I'm full into Hive but it's really good to know that someone views your work!

Against Nature

So in the first battle, we are going to review a battle against a Nature deck. It's not one of the hardest battles that we are going to see today but it was pretty challenging at the beginning to maintain control over the board. The decisive moment was at 4:59 when I played the Protective Benediction.

Against Deception

This is the second battle for today and we are going to view a battle against Deception this is going to be a very interesting matchup. As I said earlier, Deception decks were kinda my nemesis at this event but I fought really hard in this one. As you would see I had control over the board from the beginning of the match and I had to do some good trades in order to maintain that. The first key moment was at 3:29 when I played the card Chaining of the Gods which made my board stronger and the final blow happened at 6:18.

Against War

The third battle that we are going to examine was the toughest one I believe of the other two. The reason is that I struggled a lot from the beginning to have real control over the board! I had some cards on the board until 2:03 but after that, I lost it for a couple of rounds and things became more serious. Then a misplay happened (at 2:36) and finally, I got a chance to gain some leverage, for those who didn't get it my opponent didn't trade and went straight to my face and that allowed me to play Asterius and get back in the game again. After that, my opponent was pretty much all in, and with the right trades and cards, I manage to take back control and eventually pat 5:16 to basically end the game!
