SPLINTERLANDS- HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE LADDER - ODD ANTI-MAGIC & MELEE EPISODE

This is my first post about Splinterlands after taking an extended break from writing and playing games. To be honest I didn't do that intentionally but I wanted to take a break from everything for a while and I achieved that while I went on vacation to a place without an internet connection. I manage to fully charge my batteries and I'm planning to continue writing about the games I like but also I'm thinking to start expanding my content and bring new series about some trips I am going to do. But enough with all of that, let's focus now on today's post and the initiative behind this post is the Social Media Challenge from @splinterlands.

If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part, if you are new to Splinterlands, I will make a summary for you! I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words!
So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn SPS and RP, the more you play and you are going up the ladder, the more rewards you get in quantity both for SPS & RP but you even get better rewards from the chests you are going to open. If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning SPS and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!

The Battle

Summoner Selection

Most of you already know that my favorite Dragon summoner is Daria Dragonscale and this is the reason I rent this card at level 3. As you would see below the reason is kinda obvious, my whole team is a part of melee monsters. Also, you see that my opponent chose Thaddius Brood but the debuffs are not going to affect our formation at a great scale.

Ruleset

• Reverse Speed: Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and are most likely to evade incoming attacks.
• Odd Ones Out: Only monsters with odd mana cost can be played
• Also, as you can clearly see we can play pretty much all classes except Water and Life and with a sweet unlimited mana cap!

Teams' Formation

Grum Flameblade is our main tank for this battle and to be honest, I can't find a better card for this position, especially in Fire class! This card brings an incredible value in my battles and it's a great solution against magic, melee, and range attack type of monsters. At this battle, my opponent has a couple of very efficient magic damage dealers, and I managed to neutralize them only with Grum.

Molten Ogre is the monster I chose for the second position and the reason I did that was because of the ability it has to Demoralize. As you saw from the thumbnail, my ultimate goal is to reduce my opponent's melee attack as much as possible and give plenty of time to my monsters to penetrate his defense. Also, this monster could easily tank some hits in case my main tank falls.

In the third place I decided to include the Sand Worm to my team. One of the main reasons behind this decision was the high damage output that this card holds. Another crucial fact was the low Speed of the card and that works like wonder with the reverse speed ruleset.

In the fourth place, we've got Uraeus. The purpose of this card is to accompany the Sand worm and to help penetrate more easily the backline of our opponent. Also, another factor was the low speed of this card.

Tenyii Striker is my fifth pick for this formation and the reason I chose this specific monster is his sneak ability. As I said also, for the previous card as well the main goal is to penetrate my opponent's backline and this card with its great stats works like a charm for that.

The last place is filled with the Disintegrator. The reason behind this pick is as I mentioned before the ability to Demoralize and in combination with the Molten Ogre can reduce my opponent's melee attack by 2 points. Also, I decided to place it at the end of my formation because of its great stats and it could tank some serious damage or evade some of them.
