Hello world and fellow Hivers

I hope all of you have had a great weekend so far and enjoying the summertime! I try to enjoy the good weather as much as I can but the truth is that if you are not at the beach right now, you are pretty much suffering from the heat. At least in my country, it's pretty much unbearable to walk outside at noon and early afternoon, so I'm taking this opportunity to share a battle with you from my yesterday grinding at the new Modern Format. The truth is that I struggled a little bit at the beginning to find good combos in the Modern but after some losses, I managed to cope pretty well.

The Battle

Summoner Selection

The summoner I choose for this battle is Grandmaster Rathe and a very good solution when you have to deal with Magic formations. It grants all friendly monsters the Void ability, +1 Armor, and the Amplify. That translates to a perfect fit for Magic damage/ Blast ability, Thorns, etc.

Ruleset

  • Reverse Speed: Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks
  • Keep your distance: Monsters with Meele attack may not be used in this battle

Team Formation

  • The first monster I used is Pelacor Conjurer at level 4, and this card is truly the MVP of this matchup as you will see in a bit.
  • The second card I used is Hero of Beyond, this monster with his great stats and the abiaty Close Range can work as an defender and a damage dealer pretty well.
  • My third choice was Adelade Brightwing,a solid magic attack monster that has the Repair,Flying ability. Pretty useful with this summoner.
  • The fourth pick was the Dhinn Renova. I like the stats of this card, 3 Attack/Speed and 6 Health are a perfect fit for my team. Also, it increases the health of all monsters.
  • My fifth pick was High Priest Darius, this card has the desirable ability of Resurrect. It's a solid combo with the summoner and Pelacor and one of our greatest DPS in this battle.
  • Last place was taken by Prismologist, another great damage dealer with great stats it has 3 Attack damage in level 1 and it has the Blast ability!
