SPLINTERLANDS - HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE LADDER - HIGH MANA EQUALIZER

Well, I've got some interesting news to tell you before we are going to continue with the battle. The first one is that I finally hit the 1000HP milestone, and tbh it took me a while but I really am proud of this. I am looking forward to doubling this amount :). Also, I want to give you an update that my holidays are finally over and I am working on my travel post which would be in 2 parts. Hopefully, I am going to complete it at some point this week. So, let's get back now at Splinterlands' related stuff and I wanted to tell you that couple of days ago I was lucky enough to obtain Jared Scar from daily rewards! As always the initiative from this series of posts is the Social Media Challenge from @splinterlands.

If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part, if you are new to Splinterlands, I will make a summary for you! I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words!
So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn SPS and RP, the more you play and you are going up the ladder, the more rewards you get in quantity both for SPS & RP but you even get better rewards from the chests you are going to open. If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning SPS and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!

The Battle

Ruleset

• Earthquake: All non-flying monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each turn.

• Equalizer: The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

• Also, the mana cap is pretty high at 54 and we must choose only either Fire or Life class.

Summoner Selection

Lorna Shine is the summoner I chose for this battle and the main reason was the Divine Shield ability. I believe that it was critical and would give me better chances to win if I would block the first round of melee damage from the Earthquake rule. Also, it makes a nice little combo with High Priest Darius as you would see later in the battle. The final reason is that I always have this summoner at a high level and I could play my cards at higher levels.

Teams' Formation

The first card I placed on the battlefield was Jared Scar and the reason I chose this monster for the tank position was his badass stats and the ability it has (Bloodlust). As I told you earlier I got this card through my rewards and I was pretty excited when I used it for the first time. Also, I believe that the ruleset Equalizer is the perfect opportunity to test this beast. Generally, I believe that it helped me a lot in this battle but if I could trigger his ability would be of course even better.

My second entry for the battle was one of my favorite cards Silvershield Knight. The reason I chose this monster is his abilities and more specifically the Inspire ability and secondary the Piercing ability. That buff on my melee monsters is going to play a significant role in this matchup and help me to achieve victory. Also, the stats it has at level 4 it's pretty good and especially his high Speed would play a decisive role as you would see at 0:34 on the video.

Sand Worm is in third place and how could this monster be not in the formation when we need high damage output and we've got the ruleset Equalizer? It's pretty obvious that this creature fills all the necessary criteria for this specific battle. Also, as you saw from the presentation of the teams my opponent's damage dealers were at the backline of his formation. That means that we should put some pressure on his backline with some high-damage Sneak monsters.

So when we are talking about putting pressure on your opponent's backline and Life Class the answer is pretty obvious and has the name Silvershield Assasin. This beast with our formation so far can deal 6 damage per turn on my opponent's highest-damage dealers. In combination with Sand worm they can completely destroy an entire team all by themselves. Personally, I believe that this card also works pretty well with the Equalizer ruleset and gains a lot of extra value.

In fifth place, I placed the card High Priest Darius. This card has a lot of reasons why it earns a place on our formation and I will start with the most obvious one and it's his ability Ressurection. This ability played a significant role in the battle because it gave us the extra time I needed in order to eliminate more of my opponent's damage dealers. Another great thing that was offered to us was his high damage and that card also gained a lot of value with Equalizer.

The last card that I placed on the battlefield was Adelade Brightwing. The major reason that led me to use it in this battle was the abilities it has both Flying and Repair. Both of these abilities counter the rule Earthquake, obviously with the first this monster doesn't take any damage but with the second it restores a portion of Shield at the first monster and as you would see in the video of the battle it helps a lot. Also, the Magic damage it deals in cooperation with Darius puts some pressure on the frontline of my opponent's formation.
