My Escalation Pack Opening

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog! The Escalation mini set has gone live yesterday. The packs were opened and can already be used in battles. I can attest that they're meta changing and already replaces some cards I used in my line up. I found the common cards with their high attacks most useful. I opened my twenty packs yesterday and these are the cards that I got.
Preparation Before Opening
Before opening the packs, I spent some DEC and glints to buy potions. These raises my chances of getting epic, legendary, gold foils and the much sought after black foils. These potions are worth it.

I also claimed that promo cards that I got from buying in the pre sale. I also checked if I was lucky in the raffle but that wasn't the case.

Pack Opening
I only bought twenty packs to join the pre sale. I'll just buy the cards that I need from the market. I opened the packs in batches of four.
Batch 1

The first batch gave me an epic and a gold foil. For the rest, I can see these cards already being useful especially the Ballista Deadshot who deals five magic damage and Doomshield Warden taking my main tank position. Magnificent Mollust with six range damage and Gobsnot Sorceress will be my back line damage dealers.
Batch 2

The secon batch I got one epic and some more common damage dealers. Blue Wyrm Travesty deals massive damage of seven that seems to counter Der Gottem Gearnut's high health. There's also Forlorn Geomant who deals five magic damage. Silvershield Sentry will be my tank in Going the Distance rulesets.
Batch 3

Batch 3 gave me another epic and a gold foil. The other cards are pretty much the same from previous batches. I still haven't gotten any legendary cards after opening fifteen packs.
Batch 4

In batch 4 I got another epic Snippet and two gold foils. I got some more commons that I can level them up to two. I haven't paid much attention to rares but I got some too including the no attack cards. I'd really need a Weapons Training ability in my deck.
Batch 5

The last batch was the best. I got two legendary cards from this batch that I use in battles. Okora the Devourer deals dual damage of range and magic while Kyraseth Nythlarian is a zero mana elf. I mostly use the Earth archon with elven units so this one will surely find a spot in my line up.
In Summary
Out of twenty packs, I got two legendaries, four epics and four gold foils. This is a good pull in my book, worth the cost of the potions. I also like the common cards that were immediately useful even at level one because of their high damage. There were a lot of common cards that I was able to upgrade some of them. In terms of utility, the common cards were most useful while the rare and epic cards will have to be upgraded to find a place in my line up. The legendary cards were also useful but not as much as the commons.
Sample Battle

Here I won against a legendary line up led by Risquel Drath archon followed by some legendary units Lord Thanalor, Chaos Golem and Rush Townsend. I used a Frontier Fire archon with two common Escalation cards Doomshield Warden at tank and Ballista Deadshot as my back line damage dealer. I also had Grove Doomblade with five melee attack.
At first glance, it seemed my enemy was overpowered and will roll through my team easily. However, alhough my line up was composed mostly of commons and rares, their high damage output gave me a good fighting chance.
