Splinterlands: Barashkukor - The Magic Nuker Damage Dealer

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog! Barashkukor is a legendary, Death splinter card that can be played in the Modern Mode. In today's post, let's deep dive into his stats and abilities, his role in battle and his possible combos.
Lore
An excerpt of Barashkukor's lore from Splinterlands.

The archfiend Barashkukor comes from an infernal realm that was subsumed and obliterated by the dark god Uul during the insidious conquests of the legions of Chaos. His formidable power quickly earned the respect and favor of Silus of the Rift, and Barashkukor was soon made a high legionnaire and charged with command of a legion of demons ten-thousand strong.
After the conquest of the Belurocian Empire, Barashkukor laid claim to its throne. He governs with meticulous cruelty and a reign of terror that makes even the Chaos Empire's most despotic of despots seem egalitarian by comparison.
Stats and Abilities

Barashkukor is a unit the gaming community refers to as a "nuker" owing to the huge damage he deals. At level one, he already deals five magic damage which will be unchanged as he levels up. At maxed level he has four speed, five armor and eight health. He is a nightmare to players like me who likes to use Taunt unit because he has the Fury ability which doubles damage to units with Taunt ability. He has the Weaken ability, decreasing the enemy units health by one. Another of his abilities is Magic Reflect, returning magic damage to the attacker who deals magic damage. All of these stats and abilities makes Barashkukor an offensive threat.
Role in Battle
With his high damage potential, Barashkukor will be the main damage dealer in rulesets that doesn't punish magic users. He is a high mana unit so be prepared to sacrifice the slot of other units if you really want to put him in battle. Since he is a magic unit, he can be placed in the back and even be an excellent defender against Sneak attackers owing to his high defense and speed. He can also play tank in some situations like Wands Out because of his high defense and Magic Reflect ability.
Featured Battle
I selected a battle of a player who has Barashkukor and display his utility.

In this battle, the ruleset was Wands Out or only magic units can be used. Player Auspicious99 had Barashkukor in his team along with other powerful magic users. His team was led by legendary archon Lorkus who buffs his team with an additional magic attack. He also applied Life Leech and Affliction abilities to two of his units. In the tank position he had Dark Arborist who has the Magic Reflect ability. His Barashkukor was only level one and placed in the rear. In second position he has the legendary Gramel the Hunger who deals three attacks. In third, he has a common card Chaos Evoker that has the Blast and Ambush abilities. In fourth position he had Baron Fyatt whose main ability is to halve the target's attack. In fifth he had a healer Arachne Weaver and in last is Barashkukor.
His enemy, player Waruni used the Water team but the archon was Gorgug the Endless who doesn't have synergy with magic units. His tank was a Taunt unit which unfortunately will be eliminated quickly if hit by Barashkukor. He has a couple of healers to support his tank/Taunt unit and in last he also has Gramel the Hunger.
In round one, Bellowmancer the Taunt unit was eliminated in one hit by Barashkukor. Waruni's second tank, Nalara Geinek was more difficult to defeat owing to its Void and Phase abilities and he is being healed by two units. Barashkukor was the star card in this battle as he demolished Nalara with his high damage that the healers were not able to keep up.
Final Thoughts
Barashkukor is a powerful damage dealer that will be a great addition to your deck if you want to be competitive in Splinterlands. It's five magic damage is simply powerful that will decimate even the beefiest tanks in the game. On the other hand, you also have to surround him with other units to combo with since battles are not won by a singe card alone. This is what makes Splinterlands a fun and challenging game. Aside from card power, you still have to think of strategies in order to outwit your enemy.
