Splinterlands Guild Brawl and Gladiator Cards

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my Splinterlands blog post. Our guild have just finished another brawl. In today's post, I will show our performance, the rewards we received and the Gladiator cards I bought from the shop.
Brawl Performance
Our guild ranked third in the brawl winning seventy six battles and earning 107 crowns that we can use to upgrade our buildings.

I contributed five wins out of seven battles, a good performance this time. Each of us who joined the brawl earned 5605 Merits and 77 SPS. A nice reward for joining the brawl and having fun at the same time. On the other hand, you also have to contribute by showing up to your assigned fray and having competitive cards for that fray.

Gladius Case Purchase
Buying Gladius cases and opening them is my favorite part after brawls. I get to have new cards added to my deck. I have 20k Merits which I used to buy 10 Gladius cases. Each case contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. This means that I'll have 40 new cards in my collection. I hope that I get some legendary cards out those.

Opening the Gladius Cases
Out of ten packs, I only got one epic and that is Gorth, a unit I haven't used. That is just so unlucky. I had better days though so I'll keep on buying until I get the cards I want.

On the bright side, I was able to upgrade one card. Cutter Brieze is a one mana card. I would use this unit but he's part of the talented Earth splinter where Quora and Katrelba Gobson are the stars. There's also Bertrol Gobson that can take up spot in low mana battles. If ever, Cutter Brieze will be used in circustances where melee is not allowed.

Featured Battles
I have a couple of battles that I liked in this brawl. In both battles, I used the Earth splinter. It's my favorite splinter because of the Execute ability of the elves and I can use my favorite Gladiator cards, Quora and Fina Voxom.
Battle 1 - Fina Voxom
This was a low mana battle and the ruleset includes Healed Out so Quora was not used. Instead, five mana Fina Voxom was my choice of Gladiator card. Her Piercing ability together with her high damage and Execute abilities show how a strong unit she can be.

The rest of my team was composed of Warborn Chieftain for my tank and a one mana card to complete the team. The enemy team chose Water splinter with Isgald Vorst for his Gladiator card. He's one of the best common Gladiator cards, probably second to Katrelba Gobson.
Fina Voxom shone in this battle, getting all the kills. She used her Piercing ability to reduce Isgald's health and then followed it up with another hit with Execute. Next she eliminated the enemy tank by attacking twice again in one round.
Battle 2 - Quora and Virid Venomancer combo
This is a high mana battle. I used my Quora and Virid Venomancer combo. I like this combo as the latter gives Quora another defensive ability with Shield making her more tanky. I was also able to use my two new elves in the lineup. I recently bought Silverleaf Mage from the market and got Grove Doomblade from the reward chests. They now form part of my elf team in the Earth splinter.

The enemy team was a Fire splinter with Chimney Wallstop as the Gladiator card. It had good synergy that all units can attack in each round but my units were just stronger and I had a Taunt unit that draws attacks away from Quora, making her survive longer.
Final Thoughts
Guild brawls is another fun and rewarding way to do battles in Splinterlands. I earn Merits which I can use to strengthen my deck. I also earn a decent amount of SPS that I can stake or use to buy cards from the market. There are also other perks like Glint earnings boost when you join a guild. So if you have not joined a guild yet find one now. There are a lot of guilds on Splinterlands discord that are recruiting active players to join them.
Thank you!
Yes it's a nice way to earn extra SPS and I love to play manually with my older cards, usually the bot does that. Good performance well done!
Thank you! It's an easy way to earn extra SPS and build Gladiator card collection.
