Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Game Updates and My Progress
Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Splinterlands has been rolling out updates to keep the game exciting and competitive. This week, Conflicts has just gone live. This gives card and pack owners a great opportunity to stake their assets for a chance to earn powerful airdrop cards. I don't have enough cards to join but I still keep buying cards to improve my deck.
Cards Bought
This week, I bought nine BCX of Kavor Skarn for around $11.
After this, I was able to upgrade my archon to level three. I now have three level three archons after Earth and Death previously. I aim to level up my Dragon archon first since I can use it with all splinters.
Progress This Season
I keep playing to accumulate Glints and SPS. However the competition is getting tougher. It seems other players are improving faster than I do as well as having better decks than I have with a combination of Conclave Arcana and Rebellion cards. I'm not keen on investing in Rebellion cards though since they might move to Wild soon.
Featured Battles
Battle 1 - Dragon Archon
In this battle, I had the opportunity to use my brand new upgraded Dragon archon. I chose the Earth team to combo with since I have levelled up cards in the Earth splinter including a legendary Warborn Chieftain.
In the tank position, I used the aforementioned Warborn Chieftain. I didn't use him before but now he's a key card in my Earth team. He deals four melee damage and has Shield and Phase abilities for defense.
In second position I had the Thanalorian Blade. The Execute ability is one of my favorites in the age of Conclave Arcana. So much so that the Earth splinter with the archon granting Execute ability to elves has become my first choice in battles.
In third position, I had one of my favorite Dragon card, the Night Reaper. This card is great in Earthquake ruleset with its dual abilities of Flying and Wingbreak. Even in normal battles, this is a great card dealing three magic damage and can play tank because of its beefy health.
In fourth, I had the five mana Dragon Egg Forager. It deals two melee damage and has the Opportunity and Scavenger abilities.
At fifth and sixth position I had the Reckless/Painforge combo of Aranduriel and Songale. Similar to my combo in the Fire element of Cavewise Wayfinder and Vicious Giraffe only this combo is in the backline.
The opponent has a higher level dual splinter archon. He used both Fire and Earth combo. My units struck first but the opponent fought back and also disposed some of my units. What carried the battle for me were Night Reaper and Dragon Egg Forager who accumulated a lot of health.
Battle 2 - Reverse Speed, Back to Basics
The next battle features the Reverse Speed and Back to Basics rulesets. In Back to Basics, I usually choose magic units and I expect the opponent will do so as well. So I chose the Earth archon since she debuffs magic attack and grants the Execute ability to elves. My team is composed of high health units in the first and second positions followed by elves.
In the tank position I had the Warborn Chieftain who is my regular tank in the Earth team.
In second is a magic unit with high health, Arcane Skinwalker.
In third is a Foundation elf card, Sorrow Harvester. It's a decent card that deals two magic damage.
In fourth is another elf, Silverleaf Warlock. He also deals two magic damage.
In fifth is Blackmoor Wildelf, also a magic damage dealer.
In sixth, I placed a one mana unit.
The opponent has a level six archon and a strong tank. However, the rest of his units are inferior to mine. The opponent's units have lower attack but higher health. This would have been a good tradeoff but my units have the Execute ability that allows them to attack twice per turn if the opponent unit's health is two and below. My team was able to execute the opponent team faster and led to my victory.

Your deck looks strong.
I just started my progress with Conclave Arcana, and my deck is still far behind yours.
Thanks. I only have level 2/3 archons at the moment. I'm still building my deck :)
