Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: My Recent Cards and Pack Purchases

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! I continue to upgrade my Conclave Arcana deck this season. Recently, I bought more cards and packs including some midnight potions in the hope of pulling a black foil. Who knows, I might get lucky and get one. It's one of the exciting features of opening packs. In addition to legendary cards and gold foils, we are also chasing the ultra rare black foil cards.

Recent Purchases

I'm purchasing cards that fit my playing style which focuses on sustainability. I prefer cards with healing and repair to support my tank and other units. I also focus on cards that benefit from the archons. I'm also on the lookout for cards that I think would make great combos. Here are my recent card purchases.

Deep Delver (level 2)

Deep Delver is a Rare Death splinter card. He is of the gnome bloodline thus, benefits from the bloodline buff of the gnome archon, Razi Clanktrap. I bought a level 2 Deep Delver since it will have three ranged damage compared to a level one which only has two. The Deep Delver also has two speed, one armor and four health. It has one useful ability, Rust, decreasing the defense of enemy units. In my opinion, the Deep Delver is one of the best rare cards in the current set and I'm pleased to add him to my deck.

Aerial Shieldmaiden

The Aerial Shieldmaiden is another rare card. This time, it's from the Water splinter. I'm severely lacking in flying units in my deck for Earthquake rulesets and I think the Aerial Shieldmaiden will be a great addition. Aside from flying, she also has the Opportunity ability. At level one, she deals two ranged damage and has three speed. On defense, she has three armor and four health. Those are pretty neat stats at level one. I'll level her up more to at least level four.

Cavewise Wavefinder (gold foil)

The Cavewise Wavefinder is a great addition to my gold foil collection. He is a common Fire card which has decent stats with three melee damage and three speed. He has four armor and eight health, nice stats for a six mana tank. On abilities, he has Ambush and Reckless which damages adjacent units. To take advantage of this, I also have a level 3 Vicious Giraffe which has the Painforge and Reach abilities. They are a great combo to play with, synergizing each other's abilities.

Razi Clanktrap (gold foil)

My most expensive buy this week, a gold foil Razi Clanktrap is already at level 2. I merged it with my other copy putting it at level three. This is my second level three archon with the gold foil Kaylia Silverleaf the other one. This makes the Death and Earth splinters my most powerful and preferred teams to use in battle.

Packs and Midnight Potions

I tried my luck in packs. I swapped some of my liquid HBD earned from blogging and converted them to SWAP.HIVE and then DEC. I bought two packs and ten midnight potions from the "other items" shop. I was hoping to pull a legendary, a gold foil, an archon or better yet, a black foil. This is what I got so far:

It's not bad, I got two strong epic cards and a gold foil Fenmoor Gorgon. The Buttercup Mauler is also one of my preferred cards in the Earth splinter and I'm looking to upgrade her further. Let's check out my favorite cards in this lot.

Leolin Sifu

Leolin Sifu is a tank more focused on offense rather than defense. Her stats are great with three melee damage and two speed for offense. On defense, her stats are also good with six armor and eight health. On the abilities side, True Strike is very useful on offense as it ensures that her attacks will never miss.

Aranduriel

Aranduriel is a Dragon splinter card with Elf bloodline. Being an elf, she can benefit from the bloodline dominion buff of Kaylia Silverleaf, granting her the Execute ability. This ability has saved my team in several battles and I'm finding it a very useful offensive tool.

Fenmoor Gorgon

I was planning to buy a Fenmoor Gorgon which I found affordable in the market but luckily I got her in the pack. She deals two magic damage and debuffs the enemy team by decreasing their melee attack by one. She is only need five mana to field in battle so it will be easy to find spots for her.

Final Thoughts

While I'm strengthening my deck, I feel that others are also doing the same. I'm still finding it hard to crack Gold I league, much less Diamond III. I will continue to move funds to Splinterlands and build a decent deck. My goal is to have all of my archons at level four and my units on maximum levels for level four archons.
