Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to another edition of Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! The previous season has been great for me. I earned over 130k Glint and over 500 SPS. In contrast, I'm struggling this season so far. Currently I'm in a losing streak!

However, I already earned some Glints and add to the Glint that I haven't spent last season puts me at already 48k Glints saved.

Featured Battle

It's not all that bad though, the games are still fun and I have some great wins. Here is one of them:

There is no particular ruleset in this battle but the mana is capped at only 28. In low mana battles I frequently use the Earth or Death splinters. This season I wasn't able to rent an Earth summoner so I use the Death splinter instead. The Death splinter is great at low mana battles.

My Team

Thaddeus Brood (Summoner)

Thaddeus Brood is an anti-magic summoner, decreasing the opponent's magic by 1. In addition, he also reduces the enemy's health by 1.

Cursed Windeku (Tank)

Cursed Windeku is one of the best tanks in the game in my opinion. At only 6 mana, it deals 3 melee damage, has 3 speed and has high health of 10. For abilities, it has Thorns to punish the enemy tanks. As a tank, it can sustain itself with Heal ability. Sure, it has no armor but it can be remedied by other team members.

Shadow Snitch (second position)

The Shadow Snitch is a great secondary tank to Cursed Windeku for low mana battles. It only requires four mana but it deals 2 melee damage and 3 speed. It has the Reach ability perfect for a melee unit in the second position. It also the Affliction ability that can stop the enemy tank's healing.

Revealer (third position)

The Revealer is another good low mana card. It deals 2 magic damage and has the Stun ability which makes the enemy lose a turn.

Broken Earth Thug (fourth position)

The Broken Earth Thug is one of the Rebellion reward cards. At only 3 mana, it deals 2 melee damage, has 3 speed, an armor and 4 health. It has the Opportunity ability that targets enemy units with lowest health.

Uraeus

Uraeus is a great low mana card that you can use in every splinter. It deals 2 melee damage and has the Sneak and Poison abilities.

Ravenhood Warden

The Ravenhood Warden is a great unit to complement the Cursed Windeku. It has the Protect ability granting an armor to all allied units which is specially useful to the Cursed Windeku. The Ravenhood Warden also deals with 2 ranged damage.

Opponent's Team

My opponent used the Earth splinter with Immortalis as summoner. He is a summoner that gives me problems when I use the Water splinter as it shatters unit's armors. My opponent fielded a magic team that was countered by Thaddeus.

My opponent only used a one mana unit as a tank followed by Regal Peryton in second position. I also used it as a tank when I use the Earth splinter. My opponent also has a Queen Mycelia that provides his team with armor. His Mycelic Spawn further acts as a tank with its Taunt ability and ample 11 health. His Spirit Hoarder heals the Mycelic Spawn with its Triage ability. I also use this strategy when I use the Earth splinter.

The Battle

The battle hinged on which will get eliminated first: my Cursed Windeku or my opponent's Mycelic Spawn. Luckily my units have the higher damage potential as my opponent's magic units attack was weakened by my summoner, Thaddeus Brood. Soon my opponent's Mycelic Spawn was eliminated while my own tank successfully sustained itself with its Heal ability. There were moments when my tank was almost eliminated but my Revealer's Stun ability proved crucial as it prevented my opponent's unit from doing damage. I won the battle without losing any single unit.

Final Thoughts

It's still early in the season. I'll continue my daily grind and hopefully my luck will eventually turn and I can get a winning streak. I'm still focused on my goal to upgrade my units before the release of Conclave Arcana.
