Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Our Latest Guild Brawl and New Gladiator Cards!
Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Our guild finished another brawl. In today's post, I'll be sharing our performance, my gladius pack opening and a couple of battles that I won.
Brawl Results
Our guild earned 118 Crowns in the latest brawl. Also, each fully participating member was awarded 6,181 Merits and 80 SPS. It was a good reward for our performance in the latest brawl.
Gladius Cases
I had over twelve thousand Merits which I used to buy six Gladius cases. Each pack contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. This means I will have thirty new cards added to my deck. I can use them to upgrade some of my cards if I have enough copies.
Today's pull is incredibly unlucky. Out of the six packs opened, not a single epic or legendary card! I only got rare cards. My consolation is I got some copies of Orella Abadon.
I was able to upgrade one rare card, Kotriphus Bane. The upgrade gave him an important ability, Retaliate which enables him to have a fifty percent chance of counterattacking melee attacks. A great ability for tanks.
Featured Battles
Battle 1 - All Earth Team
In the following battle, only the Earth Splinter was available and the enemy team prevented us from using Quora so I used Katrelba Gobson instead. She is probably the strongest common card having a high melee attack and Double Strike ability. The ruleset also includes Explosive Weaponry, granting the Blast ability to all units which further makes Katrelba deadly.
The opponent team has Quora as his Gladiator card. However, the rest of the team is not that impressive and even the opponent's positioning is not that good.
In the battle, Katrelba triggered her Bloodlust ability several times aided by her Blast ability from the ruleset. She was able to eliminate a lot of the enemy team including Quora. It was an easy win for my team.
Battle 2 - Back to Basics
The next battle had the Back to Basics ruleset, units lose all abilities. I had to choose units with great stats. Either high damage or high sustainability. I also took advantage of the Close Range ability granted by the Death splinter archon so I used ranged units with high damage. For my tank and gladiator card, I chose Xulax Nightwind who deals four melee damage and has high defense and health. In second position I picked Death Ranger who can act as a tank because of its high armor and health. It can also deal ranged damage in the tank position because of the Close Range ability from the archon. I also had a a couple of ranged units that deals high damage. In the last position I had a magic dealing unit.
My opponent's units were composed mostly of magic damage dealing units and a ranged unit in the last position. He only had four units against my five, giving me an advantage. I won the battle without losing a single unit.
Conclusion
Guild Brawls strengthen the guild by earning Crowns. It also give players personal progress through Merits and Gladiator cards. The SPS earned through Brawls is also considerable when compared to monthly SPS earnings from playing the game. As the guild participate in brawls and earn Crowns, it can upgrade the guild buildings thus having progress as well. It can unlock better stores and have stronger barracks buffs that benefits the members. Being in a guild means long term advantages for all members such as discounted shop prices or additional bonuses in fights. If you are not a member of a guild yet, better find one and enjoy the benefits of being in a guild!
