Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. In today's post I'll show how to take advantage of ruleset and abilities. How to make them work together in battle to give you higher chances of winning.

Rulesets and Abilities

In the featured battle I'm going to show, the ruleset was No Pain, No Gain. It grants the Painforge ability to all units which gives an additional attack to unit when damaged by poison, burning or hit by an ally through reckless or electrified.

We can take advantage of this ruleset by using units with Electrified or Incendiary abilities. We can further take advantage of this by using units with Bloodline Tribute ability. When defeated, all allied units of the same bloodline will have an additional attack, speed, armor and health to each shared attack type.

To summarize, the rulesets and abilities we will synergize in this battle are:

• Painforge (from the ruleset) - adds power to units when hit by an ally.

• Electrified - This is a debilitation that will trigger Painforged.

• Bloodline Tribute - The unit that has this ability will get killed by Electrified and add power to allied units of the same bloodline and attack type.

Featured Battle

In this battle I had the Water splinter led by archon Marlai Singariel who adds magic attack to all units. The rest of my team were composed of the following units.

Commander Slade

Commander Slade is one of the best tanks in the game and can go head to head against tanks of higher rarities. He is an offensive tank that also has great defense. He deals four melee damage and has five speed. On defense he has six armor and nine health. His abilities are a blend of offense and defense. Enfeeble decreases his targets melee attack when hit. He also has Dodge to avoid enemy physical attacks.

Wailworn Specter

Wailworn Specter is one of the key cards of this strategy. It's a unitthat deals two magic damage. It has the Bloodline Tribute ability that will add an stats to all Undead allied units with the same attack type. It also has low health so it will die easily from enemy attacks or allied debilitations like Electrified.

Mindless Thrall

Mindless Thrall is an Undead bloodline that will benefit when Wailworn Specter gets defeated. Its base stats is two magic attack, five health and five speed. It also had defense against magic with its Phase ability.

Arcane Skinwalker

Arcane Skinwalker will also benefit from Bloodline Tribute because it has the Shapeshift ability, enabling it to benefit from all bloodline related buffs. It has a base stat of two magic damage, two speed, four armor and five health.

Mystic Scaleweaver

Mystic Scaleweaver is the strongest card that came from the Frontier set. It deals three magic damage, has seven health and two speed. It has the Slow ability that decreases speed of all enemy units.

Shock Trooper

Shock Trooper is another key card in this strategy. It has the Electrified ability that will trigger Painforged. It can also cause the death of Wailworn Specter that will trigger its Bloodline Tribute ability.

With the archon's additional magic attack buff, Painforged ability and Bloodline tribute, the magic attacks of my Undead units will increase to high levels.

Enemy Team and Battle

The enemy had a higher level archon and units. Although the archon does not provide any buffs, the individual quality of his units more than make up for his lack of buffs. He has four legendary units in his team and they are stronger individually compared to my cards. However, my units have the better synergy that will increase their stats as the battle goes on making them equal if not better than the enemy team.

At round one, the Wailworn Specter immediately got defeated by the enemy, adding stats to Mindless Thrall and Arcane Skinwalker. Meanwhile, Shocktrooper's electrified triggers Painforged, adding attack to my units. My team lost units in the early rounds but held their ground in the later rounds. My team was left with three powerful magic units that defeated the enemy.
