Testing Stakehouse Den on Android

avatar

Hello everyone. Stakehouse Den by Arcade Colony is now available for testing on mobile. I tested the game on my Android phone and I'll share my thoughts and experience of the game on mobile.

Playstore Download

The game is available for testing on Android phones. I got an early access link from discord. You may volunteer to test the app too if you are interested. Just drop a message in the discord channel.

Opening the App and Testing the Tabs

I created a test account for purposes of playing the game on mobile. It starts of by registering a new account. Doing this step will take you to the Arcade Colony website and register from there.

After doing the registration, I'm taken to the start of the game.

The daily reward is a good feature to entice players to log daily, claim the rewards and play the game for free.

This is the same start screen that we see in the desktop version. All the of them are familiar and exactly the same.

I wrote this post on my second day of opening the game to give me a chance to bet on all of the games and test if they work. I also checked the other tabs like tokens, packs, cards and fridge.

The Pack tab will take us to pack opening. Clicking shop or buy more will take us to the Arcade Colony website.

Playing the Games

I played all the games in Stakehouse Den.

Roulette

Black Jack

Slots

I won COLONY tokens but players will need a Hive account to do anything with the token.

Small Bug

I was playing slots and I still have 15 Hotsauce to bet but the game won't let me saying I don't have anymore.

My Thoughts on the Mobile Version

The Games

The game works smoothly overall except for the small bug. It works exactly the same as the desktop version that it feels like a port of desktop game to mobile. For me, it has a lot to improve to be a truly mobile game. The daily rewards is a step in the right direction but there has to be more to make it mobile friendly. Mobile games have features to keep the game fun and engaging offering micro rewards that enduces dopamine, making the game addictive.

The Transactions

Any transactions in the game like buying packs and cards, registering a new account will take you to the website. It would be better if these can be done within the game without going to an external website. New players who are not familiar with web3 or crypto may be turned off by this.

For profitability, the offers could start with micro transactions common in mobile games like starting a spend with fifty cents or one dollar. Then encouraging the players to try buying packs, making spending on a rising tiered basis.

The Mobile Version is a Right Step but Needs Improvements

The mobile version is a good effort and a step in the right direction to capture the mobile gaming market. On the other hand, the game has to be a true mobile game and not just an exact copy of the desktop game. It also has to do everything within the app and not take the user to external sites to complete transactions. The mobile version may be great for long time players but new players, especially those who are not familiar with web3 and crypto may be turned off. The mobile version has a lot of potential that if done correctly will invite new players not just to Arcade Colony but to the Hive blockchain as well.
