Magalli's "SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! XENITH ARCHER!"
New Weekly Battle Challenge!
The subject of this week is the Xenith Archer.
1 ) Mana cost: 2 Fair mana cost.
2 ) Ranged Attack: 1 Lowest Ranged Attack possible, could be useless versus Monsters with the Shield ability.
3 ) Speed: 1 Useful for the "Reverse Speed" Rule of combat.
4 ) Expansion: Chaos Legion I highlighted that because in the near future the Expansion of a card will be essential to know if it is playable in the Modern format or in the Wild format (MF: playable only in the last two Expansions that came out on Splinterlands, WF: every Expansion is playable).
5 ) Health: 2 It can resist some weak Melee Attack Monsters with the Sneak ability.
6 ) Element: Neutral It means that it can be used with every Summoner, nice!
Please Note: the Xenith Archer has no Armor and no Ability.
The Xenith Archer is not a really interesting card by itself, so I selected the Rules of combat that I found the most interesting for it, most are Rules where I would be forced to use the card:
Its low speed is a real problem because it could miss often, I selected Rules of combat that solve this inconvenience or Rules where it could be a source, not an essential one, but still a source.
The introduction to the Xenith Archer is over, let's see how I used it in battle:
Rules Of Combat: Positive The *Reverse Speed" Rule of combat makes the Xenith Archer the Monster with the highest Speed stat on the field and the "Rise of the Commons" Rule allows only common and rare Monsters.
Mana Cap: Positive I need a high Mana cap to use the Xenith Archer in the right deck.
Active Elements: Neutral An Earth deck could be a big problem for my strategy.
Summoner: General Sloan A Summoner that works perfectly with Ranged Attack Monsters thanks to its +1 bonus in Ranged Attack stat.
Focus: Light Lucky me, the focus coincides with the strategy I decided to use.
The Strategy: Considering my Opponent's previous battles I noticed that they would use a Death Deck, considering the Death's most used Tank that has the Thorns ability, I decided to create a deck with a lot of Ranged Attack Monsters to take advantage of General Sloan's bonus and to use a resilient Tank, just to resist the most possible, leaving the damage-dealing to the Ranged Attackers.
So, hoping that my Opponent wouldn't choose a Magic Deck, I chose a Tank with the Shield ability:
Nice stats and ability, but versus a Magic Deck it would be pretty useless...
After it, I choose a Monster with a high Mana cost but that was exactly what I needed:
Another "Tank" that thanks to its abilities should be able to resist some turns in the first position, as for the Chaos Knight, versus a Magic Deck it would be pretty weak.
As always, I remind you about the Speed and Abilities % of miss:
That's why the Gargoya Devil can be considered an efficient Tank, and it has an interesting 1 in Armor too.
Then, to Support my two tanks, I placed an intersting healer:
Thanks to its ability it is a nice Support, considering that we are using General Sloan as the Summoner, the Venari Crystalsmith is a nice Damage Dealer too. I placed it in the third position because it could eventually tank a little bit more than other Monsters, thanks to its Health stat.
After the healer I placed the "Character of the Week":
I was lucky to find it Golden Foil.
After the Xenith Archer I placed the real damage dealer of this deck:
It has a high Mana cost and it has really low health, but it can deal 6 damages per round if it is used with General Sloan.
And in the last position I placed another damage dealer, I placed this one and not the Pelacor Arbalest in the last position because I was scared about Monsters with the Sneak ability.
Ready to deal damage.
Well, let's see the battle:
My Opponent followed their focus.
And my strategy worked.
I just lost the Gargoya Devil, as I said it is weak versus Monsters with Magic Attack.
Nice win.
Final Consideration:
The Xenith Archer is a Neutral card, so it can be used with every Summoner, but it has no particular abilities or Stats.
Leveling it up, it becomes a useful low Mana cost card, but still with no abilities.
Best Regards,
Magalli
