It Was A Wrap; My Last Hours In 2023

God day all, today being the first day of January, 2024, I have been contemplating on a whole lot of things, I mean things I faced personally and corporately, some might never had made much sense but the journey was worth it.

The journey so far has been a great one, the failed attempts, the lessons learnt and the opportunities that we grabbed even the ones that went pass us, I am just as grateful as I could be even when I believe this year will bring much more blessings than last. So this being said, I will be sharing how I spent the last day in the month of December, 2023.

When I wokeup, I was super grateful to God for keeping me alive to witness the last day in 2023, atleast not everyone I started with were alive to witness it. I may have been into lots of gravy situations but God has been keeping me from pains.

I said some prayers when I wokeup, then went ahead to prepare to church but then I had to take a light food for breakfast, it wasn't really something much anyways, just bread and bama margarine, after taking it, I took my bath and got dressed.

When I got dressed, I realized I will be too early to church then I waited for while, and when it was about 9am, I took my bible and left the house to church, I actually wore the Ankara my friend sewed for me for free, infact I give her the flowers she deserves.

On getting to church, the pastor declared the service a no-sermon day but a worship Sunday, we all went on our knee to glorify God who has kept us thus far, so this means the service was just an hour service and it came to a close around 10:45am, then I went back home to prepare for the cross over night service.

On reaching home, I was so happy, infact saying I was happy is just an understatement, I was overjoyed. I napped and wokeup around 4pm then prepared for the cross over service. When it was 9pm, I left the house and went to church, the aura of the environment could speak just excitement in the heart of men and star lights were shot.

When I got to church, we were all given an opportunity to worship God the way we felt like, this was my best part as I laid down on the floor reminiscing the battles God had fought for me and my family throughout year 2023, I was out of words, tears filled my eyes and I was just so emotional. When it was dot 12am breaking 2024, the service closed and we all wished eachother a happy new year!!!

The road was crowded with people who went to different worship centers, I had to trek a very long distance from my church and get couldn't find taxi to pay back home, but then I was enjoying the night stroll as I saw people shooting the star lights as well as burning tyres which is a common tradition over here inorder to welcome the new year and bid the former year farewell.

When I finally got back home, I made myself something to eat, took my bath and knelt down to worship God for a brand new year and with that, I slept off. This was how I spent my last hours in 2023. Happy new year to you all.
