Vinland Saga - Rethink the way you react
After talking about two anime that quite didn't get the fame they deserved, let's talk about the third and probably last (or prelast) anime that marked me at the point of making me change my way of behaving. Today we are talking about Vinland Saga. The anime is way more famous than Monster & Kaiji probably due to the number of people that made edits out of Vinland saga on motivation account on Instagram. Myself i must admit it is the way i found about this excellent anime.
The interesting part with Vinland saga it's that it's not slow anime like the other two at least not at the start. The first épisodes are here too explain us the situation. Thorfinn the main character is still a kid and he want to become a strong fighter like is father. His father, had already frighted quite a few times in huge battles and killed many and therefore knew how terrible war was. To make it simple and without spoiling too much, Thorfinnis faced with the death of a precious thing and is going to seek revenge by killing dozens and dozens of people. This is how the S1 ends, in a world of revenge and blood. In the season 2, we see a completely different Thorfinn who stopped chasing revenge by blood and finally understood that killing or not killing he had lost what he lost so it was better to finally start living his life instead of chasing revenge. Even though i explained the main story, you should still watch the whole anime to fully understand the character development.
As you might have understood it this anime is about Revenge, Violence, Humanity and Morality. The surprising part is that even though the anime message is pretty clear i heard a lot of vinland saga fans told me they were disappointed in the ending of S2 because they would have wished for a return of rage filled Thorfinn which made me think, did you guys miss the whole point ? I mean the whole point is the redemption arc.
On a more personal note, what did i learn from this anime ?
In most case violence is of no use (except some exceptions like a direct attack on you) but more importantly revenge is pointless. In the past, i would always try to give back to people what they did to me. After watching Vinland saga my point of view shifted. Now, if someone say crap on my back or in my face or something else well i just do nothing. Why care in the end everything i could do would porbably just make the situation worse simply cut these people off from your life once they did something bad and you'll have a safe and trusted circle around you pretty quickly.

Honestly, the message of forgiveness and changing yourself instead of revenge really touched me too.
Nice
The way you linked the changes in your personal life to this anime made the review even more vivid.
Thanks
