In #PizzaGate Part 19, I go over the importance of meme warfare in the ideological war for the minds of the people, and how we can and must use it to spread awareness about #PizzaGate. While memes are often associated for their popularity and usage across social media and internet forums such as Reddit, 4Chan, and Voat, they have gained the attention of many academics and government officials. In fact, the United States military and even the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) published the paper by a Marine Corp Major Michael B. Prosser. The paper is titled “Memetics – A Growth Industry in US Military Operations” and was published in 2005. This shows that the study of memes, memetics” has been in the United States military conscience for many years. In fact, I explain how it goes even farther than that, in which even Richard Dawkins wrote about memes as analogous to human genes in which each gene represents a unit of information person that can spread through populations.

The memetics paper by Major Prosser also outlines a detailed “Meme Warfare Center” to act as a control center to design, construct, and analysis memes. This shows that the military, and likewise many other agencies and even world powers, are starting to realize that the simple concept of memes has powerful real-world implications. Prosser argues that conventional warfare, and even Psychological Operations (PsyOps), are too rigid in their application, but nonetheless serve as a good starting point in moving towards the non-linear and disordered notion of meme warfare.

It is clear that many powerful people and agencies are focusing on using memes to spread ideas in hopes of changing public opinion and ideology. We should take note, and start to use this same strategy in raising awareness about #PizzaGate. A great way to start is by using memes describing how the elites such as John Podesta, Barrack Obama, James Alefantis, and others, are using code words such as Pizza, Hotdogs, Cheese, Dominos, Handkerchief, Pizza-related Map, Pasta, etc., for almost certain nefarious activities, including human trafficking and pedophilia. In this video I also show some of my best memes to spread awareness of pizzagate. I also created how a “meme warfare center” would look like, and I believe we should focus our efforts and create one!

Also, I mention the #PizzaGate protest that is happening this Saturday March 25th at Lafayette Park in Washington DC, right next to the Whitehouse! This is a great way to let people know just what is happening behind closed doors, and force law enforcement to investigate #PizzaGate and lock up the elite criminals. Also as a side note, I illustrate some of the weird “illuminati” symbolism on Washington DC, including aerial map views of an upside down pentagram, and a giant Owl at capitol hill, that resembles the giant owl statue at the Bohemian Grove…. The world is not what it seems… #WTF.

Stay tuned for #PizzaGate Part 20…

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohemian_Grove

Bohemian Grove is a 2,700-acre (1,100 ha) campground located at 20601 Bohemian Avenue, in Monte Rio, California, belonging to a private San Francisco-based men's art club known as the Bohemian Club. In mid-July each year, Bohemian Grove hosts a two-week, three-weekend encampment of some of the most prominent men in the world.[1][2]

Since the founding of the club, the Bohemian Grove's mascot has been an owl, symbolizing knowledge. A 30-foot (9 m) hollow owl statue made of concrete over steel supports stands at the head of the lake in the Grove; this Owl Shrine was designed by sculptor and two-time club president Haig Patigian, and constructed in the late 1920s.[23][24][25][26] Since 1929, the Owl Shrine has served as the backdrop of the yearly Cremation of Care ceremony.[2]

MEME WARFARE

In my recent videos, I have been pointing out the importance of using memes to spread awareness of #PizzaGate to the masses, especially those on the fence or have not heard about it.

I have even posted this on Voat's pizzagate sub-voat with a link to my Tweet several weeks ago.

Memetics

Memetics is the theory of mental content based on an analogy with Darwinian evolution, originating from the popularization of Richard Dawkins' 1976 book The Selfish Gene.[1] Proponents describe memetics as an approach to evolutionary models of cultural information transfer.

The meme, analogous to a gene, was conceived as a "unit of culture" (an idea, belief, pattern of behaviour, etc.) which is "hosted" in the minds of one or more individuals, and which can reproduce itself, thereby jumping from mind to mind. Thus what would otherwise be regarded as one individual influencing another to adopt a belief is seen as an idea-replicator reproducing itself in a new host. As with genetics, particularly under a Dawkinsian interpretation, a meme's success may be due to its contribution to the effectiveness of its host.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

TITLE: Memetics—A Growth Industry in US Military Operations
AUTHOR: Major Michael B. Prosser, United States Marine Corps
THESIS: Tomorrow’s US military must approach warfighting with an alternate mindset that is prepared to leverage all elements of national power to influence the ideological spheres of future enemies by engaging them with alternate means—memes—to gain advantage.

  • DISCUSSION:
  • Defining memes. Memes are "units of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation," and as ideas become means to attack ideologies. Meme-warfare enters into the hotly contested battlefields inside the minds of our enemies and particularly inside the minds of the undecided.
  • Formations charged with Information Operations (IO) Psychological Operations (PsyOps), and Strategic Communications (SC) provide an existing construct for memes and the study of memes, memetics, to grow and mature into an accepted doctrinal discipline.
  • Epidemiology of insurgency ideology. Using the analogy that ideologies possess the same theoretical characteristics as a disease (particularly as complex adaptive systems), then a similar method and routine can/should be applied to combating them. Memes can and should be used like medicine to inoculate the enemy and generate popular support.

http://www.bmj.com/about-bmj/resources-readers/publications/epidemiology-uninitiated/1-what-epidemiology

Retrieved: 15 March 2017

Chapter 1. What is epidemiology?

Epidemiology is the study of how often diseases occur in different groups of people and why.

  • Private sector meme application. 3M Corporation employed an innovation meme designed to cultivate an employee culture, which accepts and embraces innovation in product development. As a practical matter, 3M executives endorsed and employed the lead user process in new product development, which translated into a thirty percent profit increase. The innovation meme was key to 3M’s profit increase.
  • The proposed Meme Warfare Center (MWC). The MWC as a staff organization has the primary mission to advise the Commander on meme generation, transmission, coupled with a detailed analysis on enemy, friendly and noncombatant populations. The MWC aims for a full spectrum capability of meme generation, analysis, quality control/assurance and organic transmission apparatus. The proposed MWC structure lays in stark contrast to the ad hoc nature of current IO and JPOTF formations.

CONCLUSION: Cognitive scientists, cultural anthropologists, behavior scientists, and game theory experts must be included as professional meme-wielding-gunfighters on future battlefields. The US must recognize the growing need for emerging disciplines in ideological warfare by ‘weaponeering’ memes. The Meme Warfare Center offers sophisticated and intellectually rich capability absent in current IO, PsyOps and SC formations and is specifically designed to conduct combat inside the mind of the enemy. Memes are key emerging tools to win the ideological metaphysical fight.

Page 2

Some argue memes operate by the strength of their meaning and their fitness is analogous to Darwinian theory, hence only the strongest and fittest memes survive.3

Using this logic progression, any attack upon an ideology must consider an assault on a central or transcendent ‘idea’ or group of ideas as means of achieving success. Memes as ideas are then ‘in play’ as tools (or means) to attack ideologies.

Conclusion and Recommendations

Reshaping tomorrows US military must encourage an alternative approach to warfighting and shifting to a mindset fully prepared to include all available national resources in order to gain advantage in the contest for human minds.

At the same time, the US must recognize the growing need for emerging disciplines in ideological warfare by ‘weaponeering’ cultural information, transmission and replication—in other words, using memes as weapons. While perhaps contentious, current US military Information Operations, PsyOps and Strategic Communications structure are inadequate to offer sophisticated combat methods to counter the nonlinear threats lurking inside the minds of our enemies. Recent comments by the Secretary of Defense underline this chasm,

“Our enemies have skillfully adapted to fighting wars in today's media age, but for the most part we, our country, our government, has not…. the violent extremist[s] have established ‘media relations committees’—and have proven to be highly successful at manipulating opinion elites. They plan and design their headline-grabbing attacks using every means of communications to intimidate and break the collective will of free people.” 15

The emerging tools to win the metaphysical fight are memes. Managing, employing and leveraging memetic power is key for the US to shape and win on future battlefields.

This paper shows that top United States military officials are taking the concept of meme and ideological warfare seriously.

This paper is published through NATO as well, which further illustrates the importance and influence that memes have at shaping people's minds, and even entire cultures.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO /ˈneɪtoʊ/; French: Organisation du Traité de l'Atlantique Nord; OTAN), also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty which was signed on 4 April 1949. The organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its member states agree to mutual defence in response to an attack by any external party. Three NATO members (the United States, France and the United Kingdom) are permanent members of the United Nations Security Council with the power to veto and are officially nuclear-weapon states. NATO's headquarters are located in Haren, Brussels, Belgium, while the headquarters of Allied Command Operations is near Mons.

NATO is an Alliance that consists of 28 independent member countries across North America and Europe, the newest of which, Albania and Croatia, joined in April 2009. An additional 22 countries participate in NATO's Partnership for Peace program, with 15 other countries involved in institutionalized dialogue programmes. The combined military spending of all NATO members constitutes over 70% of the global total.[4] Members' defence spending is supposed to amount to 2% of GDP.[5]

Improvised Explosive Device

An improvised explosive device (IED) is a bomb constructed and deployed in ways other than in conventional military action. It may be constructed of conventional military explosives, such as an artillery round, attached to a detonating mechanism. IEDs are commonly used as roadside bombs.

What's perhaps surprising is that this view is not so far off from one within the US defense establishment, where a growing body of research explores how memes can be used to win wars.

…in its scientific and military usage a meme refers to something far broader. In his 2006 essay Evolutionary Psychology, Memes and the Origin of War, the American transhumanist writer Keith Henson defined memes as "replicating information patterns: ways to do things, learned elements of culture, beliefs or ideas."

Image: @altright_es

Jeff Giesea is a former employee of tech giant and Trump donor Peter Thiel, and an influential organizer within the alt right who was prominently featured in recent profiles on the movement and its ties to the Trump administration. Giesea is also the author of an article published in an official NATO strategic journal in late 2015—just as the Trump campaign was really building steam—entitled "It's Time to Embrace Memetic Warfare."

Giesea was far from the first to suggest this. Some forward thinkers within the US military were interested in how memes might be used in warfare years before the killing and digital resurrection of Harambe dominated popular culture. Public records indicate that the military's interest in memes picked up after 2001, spurred by the wars against jihadist terrorist groups and the parallel "War of ideas" with Islamist ideology.

"Memetics: A Growth Industry in US Military operations" was published in 2005 by Michael B. Prosser, then a Major and now a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps. Written as an assignment for the Marine Corps' School of Advanced Warfighting, Prosser's paper includes a disclaimer clarifying that it represents only his own views and not those of the military or US government. In it, he lays out a vision for both weaponizing and diffusing memes…

A year after the Meme Warfare Center proposal was published, DARPA, the Pentagon agency that develops new military technology, commissioned a four-year study of memetics. The research was led by Dr. Robert Finkelstein, founder of the Robotic Technology Institute, and an academic with a background in physics and cybernetics.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DARPA

Retrieved: 15 March 2017

DARPA

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense responsible for the development of emerging technologies for use by the military.

Finkelstein's study of "Military Memetics" centered on a basic problem in the field, determining "whether memetics can be established as a science with the ability to explain and predict phenomena." It still had to be proved, in other words, that memes were actual components of reality and not just a nifty concept with great marketing.

Image: "A Brief Overview of Memetics"

One of the first public applications of the research into memetics and social media propaganda was the State Department's 2013 "Think Again Turn Away" initiative. The campaign's attempts to counteract ISIS social media propaganda did not turn out well. The program, according to director of the SITE Intelligence Group Rita Katz, was "not only ineffective, but also provides jihadists with a stage to voice their arguments."

Image: Hillaryclinton.com

We've just witnessed a successful meme insurgency in America. Donald Trump's campaign was founded as an oppositional movement—against the Republican establishment, Democrats, the media, and "political correctness." It used memes successfully precisely because, as an opposition, it benefited by increasing disorder. Every meme about "Sick Hillary," "cucks," or "draining the swamp" chipped away at the wall built around institutional authority.

Trump's win shocked the world, but if we all read alt-right power broker Jeff Giesea's paper about memetic warfare in 2015, we might have seen it coming.

This article by Vice illustrates the growing acceptance of the importance of using memes to convey information, as well as attack and destroy an enemy ideology, which can be applied to actual warfare, and even politics.

The article also illustrates the interest of top scholars, academics, business professionals, and military personal in understanding the power of memes.

Summary and Conclusions

Although memes are mostly known for funny or witty images with text shared on social media, their effectiveness and widespread adoption throughout the world has gained the interest of many top scholars and even governments.

They can be more generally defined as being an idea or cultural aspect that gets spread from person to person.

The United States military, as well as NATO, have been researching into the field of memetics in hopes of developing a concrete science in developing and understanding memes.

Some top military personal have also suggested the development of a Meme Warfare Center (MWC) to develop, track, and analyze the effectiveness of memes in the hard fought ideological war for the minds of the people.

The spread of ideas through memes is being viewed as the spread of diseases in populations.

The extent of the actual usage of meme warfare by institutions of power is unknown but there is a growing acceptance, even by the mainstream media, of adopting non-linear fighting mechanisms in both war and ideological war.

I have been pointing out the importance of memes for spreading #PizzaGate long before I found out that the United States military, NATO, political parties, and even before the mainstream media are trying to quantify memes in an actual social science called memetics.

Meme warfare is necessary in the ideological war for the minds of people, and the powerful elite are focusing on it because they have seen the widespread effectiveness of viral dank troll memes on the internet.

Meme warfare is not only a great way to spread awareness of #PizzaGate, but it is necessary to get widespread awakening of the people.

A great meme idea is to illustrate the code-words that the elite pedos use, such as "cheese", "pizza", "hotdogs", "Haitian special", "dominos", "torture chamber", "kill room", "handkerchief", "pizza-related map", "chicken-lover", etc., to convince people that these people are clearly speaking in code.

All wars are in essence ideological wars, i.e. we are trying to convince people to join our side, and it is clear that the current and future wars will be fought through meme warfare, so train and equip yourself accordingly…
