SplinterStorm Skins Are Still Available

Here is something that doesn't get mentioned often or at least I haven't seen it blogged about recently. That something is the fact that Splinterlands has skins for sale. The Skin Set is named Splinterstorm and once purchased will give your Splinterland card(s) a new look. To get to the Skins section of the Splinterlands marketplace all one needs to do is login >> Go To Shop >> Click Skins Link. Once there you will see a page that displays all the Skins that are available. Unfortunately these skins are only active for the original Splinterlands Set. Meaning if you are looking for Skins for your UNTAMED, CHAOS or the recent Rebellion set you won't be finding them here or anywhere else for that matter. That is not to say that one day skins won't be available for said sets but for now they are not. Like all things in Splinterlands these SKINS have a limit on the amount that were printed. Some of these Skins had a max of 100 prints available while others had a max of 1000 prints available for trade. As you can imagine like most assets that have been around Splinterlands for any given time period these are mostly sold out. However if you are looking to purchase some there are still a handful of Skins still available for purchase. Below I have made a list of which cards still have Skins available for trade (DEC Is The Token You will Need) and at what trade value. I will also include how many skins are left of each edition.

As you can see the Skins are all monsters/ units from the Alpha/Beta collection (Beta had Alpha Reprints plus added neutrals to the game) and as I mentioned earlier there isn't many left. In fact I'm surprised that the community hasn't picked these up. I chalk it up to the fact that they are never advertised as being available. Add the fact that they are easy to overlook due to being in a section of the Splinterlands site all to themselves, its easy to see why these might of slipped through the cracks and went unnoticed. The artwork of these skins is rather interesting and can bring some added value when going into battle. For example if you are battling someone who hasn't seen the artwork before they might not recognize the card thus might not know how to properly counter attack. At the very least your new Skin will give some of your foes a momentarily pause due to them admiring the artwork. Will cards with such artwork be more valuable than cards without? Who knows, people find value in all sorts of places but if not at least you will be left with a cool looking card that not many will have. I'll leave a sample of the artwork below but to see the full Splinterstorm set you will need to visit splinterlands.com.
