Vouchers (What Are You Doing With Them?)
As many who are on our SPT Content Creators List and all other Splinterland Manicas know, Splinterlands is once again dropping us Vouchers for Staking our SPS. Vouchers are needed to purchase Chaos Legion Packs during General Sale 1.0. Without Vouchers users will need to wait until General sale 2.0 to Start (Vouchers will only be needed for bonus packs for General Sale 2.0). Jan.12th/2021 or when a total of three million packs have been sold is when General Sale 1.0 Ends. Voucher prices have steeply declined since first introduced. They at one point in time were selling for $20USD+. Today a Voucher will cost you under $4.00 USD. This means currently you can secure your Chaos Legion Boosters for a total price that is less than $8.00 USD. Splinterlands (being the awesome game that it is) provides us with many different directions in which we can take when deciding on how to invest/play this game. Some of you might opt to sell your Vouchers and get ready for General Sale 2.0 to start. Others are buying up Vouchers and Chaos Legion Packs to secure your Chaos Legion needs. I've been selling off VOUCHERs as I get them. They dropped in price even harder in Phase 2 than I expected. The pace of Chaos Legion pack sales have been quite lackluster so far in this phase so I'm expecting a lot of players are waiting until the general sale to buy, when they don't need a VOUCHER.
It's possible that demand for VOUCHERs goes up in the general sale since people can just add in some VOUCHERs to get additional free bonus packs. But I'm not taking that risk and have been selling them from the beginning and letting others take the holding risk.

I think i might hold onto them and use them for free packs, I can't see the airdropped cards being worth more than $100 a pop in January shortly after the GS starts.
As good a plan as any. I'm a little surprise at how fast voucher USD price sunk. I was expecting $10 to be the norm for the first two weeks of General Sale 1.0 and then dips down to $5 until a new price point was found for General Sale 2.0. Splinterlands is hard to predict.
I picked some up at $3.70 earlier today.
That's cheaper packs the way I see it, in the general sale!

I'm currently selling Vouchers, I'm not sure what exactly I'm doing but here's my thoughts:
They're all so tempting though, so I do diversify between them a bit, but I don't really have enough vouchers/capital TO diversify much in a meaningful way

Right now I am just getting a small amount sent every day to my @holovision.cash account from my HE-Index holdings and hodling it.
Nice, I suspect more use cases for Vouchers so holding might pay off in the end.
My big question is why did vouchers decline so much in price? Will it go back up, is this a cyclic process?
The price decline is likely due to its use case change. Currently Vouchers are needed for each pack but not for bonus packs. In the very short future Vouchers will only be needed for bonus packs.
That is interesting, and when I think about it sounds logical, use case change will affect the value 👍
