Sweet Aroma Nonsense

A few months after I got married, my wife became pregnant and as luck would have it, I got a new job likewise. The job came with some allowances. Though I didn't get a car with it, the company agreed to pay for all my trips to and from work. On the day I resumed work, I was introduced to my boss, a pretty woman in her late twenties or early thirties. She outlined all my duties and later asked me to go to my office, where I started to type a document on the computer system as directed by my boss, Tilewa.

When I reached home, my wife had already prepared dinner. I had a cold shower and then came to eat my favorite pounded yam with vegetable stew.

A few weeks later, after work, I had booked an Uber to take me home, while waiting for my ordered Uber, my boss, Tilewa drove by and asked me to hop in. At first, I refused but she insisted and asked that I cancel the booking. I did as she requested and we moved. She drove so carefully until we reached the front of my apartment, I alighted and she waved me goodbye.

My wife asked me. She had never sounded so awkwarf until that day. Normally, she would have welcomed me with a hug but it was a different stroke that day.

She looked at me with so much bitterness and replied to me:

The woman who dropped you off.

At this juncture, I knew that women can also be over-protective of their husbands or boyfriends as the case may be.

Oh, my boss. She offered to drop me off since she was taking this route.

Still, I can perceive that my wife is not satisfied. She continued

After you knew what she wanted.

I was taken aback at her utterance. Funny enough, my boss to me was only trying to help. When I saw that she was ready to make trouble, I just walked away to my room.
The next day, my boss called me into her office and asked me to check her routine for the day. I did as she requested and submitted it on her table but as I was about to leave, she called me back, and now she is standing. She walked toward me and planted a kiss on my lips. I pulled back and walked away.

My wife was right. Tilewa wanted something from me. I probably would be risking my job if I didn't give in. After that day, she made several attempts to lure me but I stood my ground. There were times when she would put my name on the official list for conference attendance in faraway places so that we could have time together. Tilewa even started pumping my account with heavy money all because she wanted me.

One morning, after I received a lot of money from her the night before, straight to her office I went and greeted her then said:

Tilewa, I hope you know I am a married man. Please, stay off before my wife gets to confront you.

As if that was enough, Tilewa went behind my back one weekend and told my wife that we had already started dating a few weeks ago. She even said to my wife:

Are you one of his sisters?

My wife kept her cool and played along.

Is that what she told you? That I am his sister?

Tilewa was so desperate. She needed her man in her luge so badly. I never knew she could be this mean. Having told my wife that I lied about being married, I knew she wanted a fight between my wife and me.

I had just bought a new Corolla. Of course, your guess is right. Some of the money I got from Tilewa was part of what I used to get the car. I just wanted to end it all but the weekend was getting too long. This nonsense must stop. I'd rather keep my marriage and lose the job than the reverse. My lawyer friend asked me to keep enough evidences so that I could keep my job in case Tilewa wants to take legal measures against me. That, I have done already. Most of our conversations were recorded.

Monday came and I am ready to shoot. I asked my wife to get ready as we would be going out together that morning. As heavily pregnant as she was,we prepared and got on the way on time so that the traffic do not hold us down.

To her surprise, it was my office that we landed. Tilewa is an early bird. She was already sitting at her desk when we arrived. My wife and I headed straight to her office with me at fore front.

Good morning ma'am.

I greeted. Tilewa was so dumb to reply when she saw my wife sitting right by my side.

Like I told you. I am happily married and not going to be dating anyone else. I have vowed not to break my marriage vows. Not for money or beauty. I have in my wife everything I need in a woman.

After this act, Tilewa and I became friends despite being my boss. There was no romantic attachment. My wife trusted me the more and can vouch for me anywhere, anytime. About a year after, Tilewa and Martins got married and are now blessed with two children.
