The Lion Guards

One very wealthy man named Moscow has four dogs in his house. The dogs acted as security guards in his compound and they were to keep watch of the premises at night and in the morning, a male security guard would take responsibility. Hence, every 6:00 a.m., the dogs will return to their cage. This has been the pattern Moscow adopted to keep his house from the incidence of frequent robberies around the street where his house was located.

Aside from the fact that his house is well-secured by the dogs, he built a high fence around the perimeter of his house. The gang of robbers who have been terrorizing the area have been looking for ways of breaking into Moscow's compound but to no avail.

Since the case of robbery had become tough around the vicinity, Moscow decided to do something weird. He bought two lions to beef up. the security of his estate. On the very day the lions were brought in, they shared two dogs and ate them up completely. The remaining dogs absconded from the estate and never returned.

Mai, the day security man decided to quit his job seeing that his life was not safe anymore. As soon as it was 6:00 p.m., Moscow would lock Mai up in his apartment before going to release the lions for night duty. So, he decided to quit once he got his salary for the month.

While all this was going on, the armed robbers decided to rob Moscow. The five robbers could not get a ladder to climb the fence, so one of them lent his back while the other climbed on his back and jumped into the compound.

The four robbers had all scaled through the fence to begin breaking into Moscow's house when the lions appeared. The gang leader wiped his eyes to confirm if he was seeing right.

Okon, are these dogs or what?

He asked one of his colleagues.

These are lions, boss.

Okon replied with a shaky voice. One of the lions yawned and then licked its face with its tongue.
At this moment, the robbers were confused about what to do next. The lions sat calmly, facing the robbers. Everyone one of them began to say

Boss, what's the way out now?

One of the robbers asked the gang leader. Instead of speaking calmly, his anger rose, and shouted back at the one who asked the question.

Shut up, let me think of what to do.

Then, one of the lions took a step toward them. While all this was going on, Mai was just watching from his apartment. He had put off all the lights in his apartment but could see what was happening. The gang leader thought of surrendering rather than being devoured by the angry-looking lions. So, he shouted at the top of his voice:

Hello! Who is at home? We are armed robbers, kindly call the police so that we can be arrested.

He yelled more when no response was forthcoming.

Mai was just there, waiting to see what the lions would do.

Meanwhile, the last robber who didn't make it through the fence was angry that he wouldn't join the party in their proposed looting. And usually, he won't get the same share from the presumed loot.

The third robber had urinated on himself when he saw the fierce-looking lions. He fainted immediately. One the leader was thinking.

The fourth robber started complaining.

I was on my way to Bible study when you guys convinced me to join the gang. See how the devil wants to make me end this life and go to hell.

He was sweating profusely as he spoke in regret.
Then it started to rain. The lions did not attack the thieves. They had been fed with a huge lamb a few moments ago.
As the rain intensified, the lions made for their cage.

Without mincing words, the gang leader crawled on the ground towards the gate. He opened the gate while the others ran towards the gate without looking back.

The robber who had fainted woke up at the sound of the steps of colleagues, he rose and chased after them. After running to a safe distance, they all stood at one corner like someone who had just escaped from a jail break. They swore that day never to rob again.
