Giveaways - Don’t look at gift horse in the mouth

Just in case you didn’t know, crypto twitter is full of giveaways. A lot of people in crypto have a lot of money. Therefore I think there is a bit of stigma that surrounds giveaways - people don’t want to seem ‘poor’ by entering them. Also, they might not want to upset their followers by flooding their stream with spam. I don’t really care about either of those things. I also look at it this way - why look a gift horse in the mouth? I enter lots and lots of giveaways. I have no idea what my win rate is (I would guess 10%?). Some have been big, some small. Today I share some highlights. The purpose of this post is not to brag but just to show how valuable giveaways can be. A little bit of your time can have massive upside!

Nifty Island

Legendary palm giveaway

Nifty Island is a highly anticipated metaverse project whose alpha launch is expected in January. I was lucky enough to get in to the discord early enough (thanks crypto twitter) to claim a ‘role’ (Axie Infinity) - at some point in July or August of this year a snapshot was taken of discord members with a role and all these folks were eligible for the Legendary Palm airdrop. Legendary Palms are the OG NFT in Nifty Island. There is a rarity scale for the different kinds of palm, from least rare to rarest - iron, bronze, silver, gold, neon, ultra. It was luck of the draw to determine what variety of palm you received - I received silver, with a current floor price of 8.65 ETH!!

Holders of Palms are also eligible for extra benefits, such as raffle entries into the ‘Ultra blade’ giveaway (I also won this!!) whose floor price is 3 ETH, early alpha access and the Legendary Pistols airdrop, yet to be issued.

100 AXS

I won this 100 AXS giveaway before AXS token was even listed on exchanges. It’s now valued over USD 100 per token. I spent 8 AXS back in June for a couple of breeds but I still have the other 92, which I’m staking to earn more! All I had to do was follow OP and retweet.

Frosty Axie

Frosties are rare Axies that were only available during the Christmas 2019 breeding event. They are easily recognised by their white bodies and bell on their chin. This little guy has the Frosty body part and two Christmas parts. The Frosty floor is currently 1.35 ETH. To be eligible for this giveaway, I had to follow OP on twitter, twitch, and like and comment on their YouTube video.

Fast food fren

Fast food frens is a Pepe-inspired PFP collection. Although their floor price is pretty low, I won my FFF just in time to be eligible for the free mint of the spooky frens collection, so it was basically a two-for-one deal (two-for-zero to be more precise)! There is also a collaboration coming up with the Dog NFT with a low mint price that I think will do very well, and the community on Discord are a really fun bunch ❤️. Plus they are launching $FRIES soon, their own currency. To be eligible to win my FFF I had to follow OP, like and retweet.

Rare Pepe (PEPESURF)

PEPESURF is a very tightly-held Rare Pepe, which makes it hard to value. It was last sold on the DEX in July 2017 for 0.1 XCP, which is currently valued USD 1.48 - bahahahaha!! I think once (if) this gets into the hands of more people, its value could take off! I’ll happily let it sit in my wallet until then. Punk fren

Punk frens is a new collection on CounterParty. They claim to be the first bitcoin-based Punks. I took an instant liking to these. I bought two of my own and won this one by liking and retweeting. The rareness factor in this particular one (not the one shown in the picture above) is the rainbow background - first punk collection with rainbow bg ❤️.

My most recent giveaway win. This was another one that just required a like and retweet. This was created by renowned meme artist pepelangelo. Rare doge to the moon 🐶 🌙.

Sometimes there’s a giveaway I reeeeally want to win. I never win any of these. After the winners are announced I get over it pretty fast and just enter the next one. Giveaways entries usually take less than 60 seconds - such a no-brainer if you leave your pride at the door!
