What You Meme They XCancel-ed
Giant social-media corporation niTwit|tear now known as X marks the spot on tyranny, is apparently so threatened by people making different platforms as a means to look into its own website without being traced by the dark sides cookies, sends lawyers after them.
XCancel has now received a cease and desist and shut down its website while seeking legal help.

Nitter has received one too, which is especially interesting considering Nitter is the open-source project behind a number of these alternative front ends.

The funny part is that neither XCancel nor Nitter are the only alternatives available. At least not yet. Goyimx is still up and running, giving people another way to look at X without having to actually use X itself.
How long that will remain the case is anybody's guess. If X Corp is willing to start throwing cease and desist letters at alternative front-ends, I wouldn't exactly be surprised to see another one land in somebody's inbox.
I have to wonder what exactly X thinks it's accomplishing here. People who don't want to use X's official website aren't suddenly going to become enthusiastic X users because X managed to shut down an alternative front-end. They're just going to find another way around it.
The more interesting question is what happens when there is no alternative left. Because X isn't just going after one website here. Nitter being hit with the same thing means the underlying project itself is now in the crosshairs. However, history has shown the internet has never been particularly good at staying inside somebody else's fence. X can keep playing whack-a-mole with alternative front ends, but the internet has a rather annoying habit of producing another mole.
If X really thinks sending lawyers after every alternative is going to make people suddenly want to use X directly, I think they may have misunderstood and are far underestimating the people they're dealing with.
If Goyimx happens to be next, I'm sure somebody else will eventually decide to build another window.
God forbid someone opens another one.

Thank you for reading.

While I am not a fan of Twitter at all I would support other front ends I guess. I do like the names that these guys came up with for their products though.
Looks like I broke it, it was working for the first one, but I changed pages and bam!!
I'll keep trying, I guess.
It could be something else.
I only pop into x-twatter to post any articles I write up. Kinda pointless, really, as I am so excruciatingly shadow banned. But if someOne actually searches for Me, They will see the posts.
I use MeWe and Twiggy.
