Verse of the Day | Wednesday, June 3rd
"They refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear; they made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent by his Spirit."
Zechariah 7:11-12Today's verse reminds us that the greatest danger is not failing to know the voice of God, but deliberately choosing not to listen to it. Hardening the heart does not happen all at once — it is the result of small, accumulated decisions to ignore His call, until the heart becomes as rigid as a diamond.
That is why we must cultivate a soft and willing heart, one that does not flee from the Word but receives it with humility, remembering that every time God speaks it is an opportunity of grace that we must not waste.
