THE INSPECTION AND MY DISCOVERY

A close friend of mine has wanted to secure a landed property here in Lagos State Nigeria where I reside. She and the husband want to come out from being a tenant and from the landlord issues of inconsiderate increment of rent and become their landlord no matter how small they can put up a structure of their own house.

It's a good idea, and anyone living in Lagos will understand that house rents are just horrible nowadays, I don't know if there is a landlord association where all landlords come together and agree on rent increments because from what I have observed so far living in Lagos, once there is an increment in rent in a particular location, it spreads so fast across every other location especially here in Island. Before my family and I secured our own house in Lagos, we had terrible experiences at the hands of the landlord. If not for the huge cost of building a house, it would have been best for everyone to own his or her own house and have peace but to a large extent, I don't think it is possible anyways, especially at the same time.

Enough of stories, back to our land inspection yesterday.

My friend who needed the land resides on Lagos mainland whereas she wanted to land here on the island, so I had to accompany her with some land Agents since she is not conversant with our area. It baffles me to discover how fast land appreciates in Lagos state even in some interior villages on the island.

Considering her budget, I didn't bother to take her to the developed area in search of land because, in those areas, a plot of land is always in hundreds and thousands of millions. So we went to a very far place from the town and only a quarter plot was still almost 2mllion naira. A full plot in an underdeveloped area was going for 5, 6, and 7 million respectively.

We did some land tours and I discovered that even some waterlogged areas are not left out with the exorbitant prices

Some bushy areas too were not left out. However, development happens so fast in Lagos state and it won't be too long before some of these bushy lands turn into new Lagos city.

On our way coming back, I saw this plantain plant and gave it a shot, considering planting it around my house, maybe I will be lucky to have a good harvest from it.

Well, the inspection was a nice tour, and my friend still putting some things into consideration like increasing her budget and getting the land in a better place which is nice. Last 6 years when my family and I secured one plot, the cost in the areas was 4m but now it's already 10m. Land investment is a sure deal in Lagos both for residential or for renting or commercial purposes.

Thanks for reading and viewing.

P.S: all images are mine taken with my cell phone.

Land investment is a good idea. That land of 10m now will get to 15m soon. In my place you can get 100/100 for less than 1m.

It's really expensive when you talk about buying a land in this century, If you should ask me I think land has been paired on the same Blockchain with Bitcoin 😂💔
