Today is the first Friday in the month of February which is the shortest month with 28 days since it is not a leap year. As the last official working day of the week, many workers will have some relief and say "thank God Is Friday, till next week." But for a street person like me, a self employed, whatever tomorrow brings we face it. However we can still say thank God Is Friday (TGIF) because it signals the fact that another new week of endless possibilities is about to set in.
The Volunteering spirit still eats me up as I spearheads the filling of the gollies on the Ataidung street, Uyo. Still using the tricycle we bag the pebbles and load as much as the tricycle can carry per trip and head on to the site.
The boys with me demonstrated a rugged spirit as they do it with much eagerness not minding any financial attachment but freely gave up their time and energy to support and see that the road is not posing any threats to life.
Some people in the street really appreciate this gestures especially as it is coming from those who are not residing in the street but just coming around for a meeting weekly.
I feel happy to see the level we have done so far and hoping to complete it next week as events allow. In the meantime it makes my week ends well and I can say "Thank God Is Friday (TGIF)."
