Bruce returned first, soaked in snow, undressed to warm himself in front of the fire, as did the others. Gradually the cold chills faded away, the warmth and joy warmed their souls. At their age of responsible adults, they were still able to savor the lightness and candor of children, to live and enjoy a moment of companionship, accomplices in the game and friends without time affecting this feeling of altruistic sense of belonging.

Bruce rientrò per primo, fradicio di neve si spogliò per scaldarsi di fronte al fuoco, lo stesso fecero gli altri. Pian piano i brividi di freddo scemarono, il calore e la gioia scaldavano i loro animi. Alla loro età di adulti responsabili, erano ancora capaci di riassaporare la leggerezza e il candore dei bambini, di vivere e assaporare un momento di cameratismo, complici nel gioco e amici senza che il tempo scalfisse tale sentimento di altruistico senso di appartenenza.
