Jeff had been hunched over his chemistry book for an hour, but he kept going back to the top of the page, everything he read made no sense to him, totally incomprehensible. It was stronger than his will, all sorts of thoughts were sneaking into his mind and his ability to concentrate didn't exceed a minute. He stretched his arms and back, closed his eyes and wandered in another dimension, where chemistry did not exist and his thoughts could gallop free like wild horses.

Jeff era chino sul libro di chimica da un'ora, ma continuava a tornare ad inizio pagina, tutto quello che leggeva per lui non aveva senso, totalmente incomprensibile. Era più forte di lui, ogni sorta di pensiero si intrufolava nella sua mente e la sua capacità di concentrazione non superava il minuto. Si stiracchiò braccia e schiena, chiuse gli occhi e vagò in un altra dimensione, dove la chimica non esisteva e i suoi pensieri potevano galoppare liberi come cavalli selvaggi.
