Accepting Mistakes

Are we perfect, no we're not and at least you accept that. If you do then it's only logical that you accept you are capable of making mistakes right?

One of the ways people learn is through mistakes. However, some people will not learn from their mistakes because they will not acknowledge that something they did was wrong. Instead, they make statements to lessen their ownership of the situation or simply state that nothing bad happened. In this circumstance, the person prohibits themselves from learning and therefore from growing too.

It can be surprisingly difficult for someone to say the words 'I made a mistake." It can make someone feel small and orr embarrassed. But the act of saying it is the first step toward improvement. When a person acknowledges their mistake, they have an opportunity to examine the "why" behind it and try it a different, much better way over time. This is the basis for personal growth.

Sometimes people will cover mistakes because they are fearful. They are afraid that they will get laughed at or reprimanded. They may worry their mistake means they are not as intelligent as others thought. Everyone makes mistakes. It is a normal part of being a human. The people who have a greater ability to learn and learn quickly, are those who are not afraid to say they made a mistake.

In some schools or workplaces, people are penalized when they make mistakes. Because of these punishments, people feel they have to hide their mistakes. This actually limits learning for everyone that experiences the mistake. But the positive thing about when people feel that they can tell the truth is they are able to accept what happened and then try to even figure out better ways to do things.

Owning up to your mistake is usually difficuly, I get it but trust the facts, and the facts is that it will help you become more wise as you keep allowing yourself to be corrected.

In my own life I've learned to accept my mistakes more, infact even those that I ended up being right, I still accepted it, looking like a fool because I was right. But you see by allowing humility, I learned something by allowing people to point out mistakes they think they saw.

Changing the habit of blaming others to being responsible and accepting your own faults and limitations as a person will greatly increase the rate of learning, but denying a mistake will do nothing but hold you back from truths, facts and reality.
