Don't allow negativity to sink in

I want you to consider something for me, consider just how heavy water is and it's very nature of letting things sink in it. Yet a ship just sits on top of it, it's moving up and down as it gets slammed into and all around it. But it just keeps on moving. So much water is pressing on the bottom of the boat and that boat just keeps on going. There's a lot to learn from that if you really think about it.

Now if we bring up physics and facts, we already know that the sea won't sink a ship, it's the leaks that will. When it leaks to a point where the who weight of the ship becomes heavier than the normal floatation weight then we have the sinking problem.

A few days ago, I was eating some rice with stew at my desk. I'm talking jollof rice with way too much pepper but no regrets. While enjoying my rice I checked my phone and saw something that I had to respond to, that thing managed to wreck my afternoon. Not because what I saw was catastrophic but because I let it enter into my head. I kept rolling it over and over and over again for hours, gave more real estate to that thought than it deserved.

Negativity works exactly the same as this situation, the world is full of that and it's not personal. It's just kike water, it's everywhere and the only thing you should be concerned about is if you have a small crack somewhere.

I'm not saying to close yourself off completely, that's a different issue and if you do so you won't have anybody around you. Being lonely is never healthy for anyone. But there is that space between knowing troubling things exists and letting that troubling thing take up space in your mind.

A ship doesn't say, sorry for floating, it was built to float. So were you figuratively speaking. And by floating I mean keep moving on in life.
