Liar Liar is three things, truth, humor and family

Liar Liar was, is and will forever be a fantastic in my opinion. Jim Carrey did a great job and the plot was extremely humorous. The only thing that I really liked was the fact that the film delved into the characters' feelings in a very nice way.

What I didn’t like was the aspect of how they dealt with the matter of separation and divorce, I don't agree but that is the law. My parents were divorced and I had a decent childhood, largely because of the fact that both my parents cared and understood that divorce doesn't mean ruin the life of the children, which I learned from them and I believe the stories that show parents getting together for the sake of the kid send out the wrong message. I know some friends that live with toxic parents and unfortunately, they lose their selfworth. The reason why I have been able to stand apart is that I have learned to respect myself and set boundaries, which is all thanks to the courageous decision that my parents took when I was a little kid.

And because of that, they not only prospered individually but also remained good friends with each other. Yes it's rare to see people that have divorced still stay friends. They have proven to be very matured.

Take that aspect away, Liar Liar is the perfect movie.

It's the kind of character that Jim Carrey usually portrays anyways. Always screaming and getting out of a situation by means of trickery like he did in Bruce Almighty, which I think was an equally awesome movie.

Just in case you haven't watched this movie before, Carrey plays the role of an attorney who is also a father and a husband but has this tendency of lying, most of all to his son.
It all culminates in one day where he misses his son's birthday, after assuring the boy that he will be there. The son celebrated the birthday with his father and to blow and candles and make a wish, he made a wish that his father never lies to him for one whole day. Out of nowhere, the smoke from a birthday candle somehow casts a spell on Jim Carrey and that made him unable to tell a lie no matter how much he tried.

It is really funny but at the same time, it imparts a lesson that parents are obliged to be faithful to the needs of their children.
I love it and is still my favorite Jim Carrey movie to this day and think it's his funniest movie and funniest acting performance, I sure miss prime Jim Carrey from the ‍‌‍‍‌90s. As I've said this before, the one person that would come close to the legendary Jim Carrey has to be Ryan Reynolds. Since I can't have peak Jim Carrey, I'll take deadpool.
