The difference between annoying and great bosses
You probably already know them, the bosses who make us hate Mondays and count the days until the weekend and practically the reason for the phrase "Thank God it's Friday".
Work itself can be fine if you're doing it with great coworkers, managers and leaders but working for the wrong type of boss can kill your enthusiasm, crush your motivation for life and even turn the simplest tasks into an almost unbearable challenge. What is it that makes a Boss great? Perhaps if you are a boss over someone you could take notes.
This infographic presentation doesn't have everything but it does have enough to let you know which side you're on or which kind of boss you're working for.

- What will you do with it if you find out you're working for a horrible boss?
You have two options, find a job with a better boss or endure till you create your own business and be the better boss.
But what makes a boss truly great?
The thing with annoying bosses is that they usually operate from fear and with fear. They're unsure of themselves and believe having to be feared rather than respected is the best way to establish their authority.
They are very stubborn, listen to no one's advice whether greater or lesser than them and they resist change most of the time. They like to use favoritism and validation as tools to get people to do their bidding. I'm essentially describing a narcissist here. But of course, not all bad bosses are narcissists but most are. The biggest thing to guide their decisions is arrogance and emotions.
These are the traits employees have to work under, and it makes their time there an absolute hell, which is why a lot of them hate their jobs so much. A lot of the workers feel controlled rather than being supported to become more productive.
The visionless leader will always fail to communicate a clear direction of the business or company to the employees and turn around to blame the employees for not doing what's best for business. How are you going to do what's best when they don't even know where exactly the company is headed?
I once worked for an acting manager of a news media company as an intern secretary. Any idea that wasn’t her's was dismissed. She wouldn't forgive the slightest mistake and her excuse was "I expect competence from you"
The moment of my life I could feel it, my morale was almost down to zero, I wasn't productive at all and I went to work in constant panic mode. Never have I ever been happy with a resignation letter in my life before.
But enough negativity, let's talk about being a great boss. I have already spilled it out, you just have to do the exact opposite of the annoying boss.
A great boss is a positive thinker who sees the best in his workers and do all the necessary things to bring out the best. He inspires confidence and hope in the hearts of his leaders and staff members. You get nothing but pure honesty, transparency and willingness to delegate power, authority and initiatives to people. That can only be done if there's trust.
If you're working for such a person, you can guarantee that credit will be given where it's due and even if it's not, it was clearly an oversight and they're humble enough to take corrections too. These kinds of leaders are able to create environments where people desperately want to contribute to the growth of the company.
The better your workers, the better your work so it will always favor you to be a great boss and not an annoying one.
