Trust yourself everything else is unpredictable

I think people put a huge value on stability, and want the ground they're on to feel solid, permanent and stable. Here in Accra, the so called best road has potholes in it from who knows when. The power often goes out when you're in the shower and your body covered in soap, you can be left standing in the dark without knowing if the problem is the bulb or the electrical system. We had power outage from last night and it was just about an hour ago that the fixed the problem.
A bird is able to sit on a branch and know that the branch could break, but it's able to use its wings to fly away if or when that happens. I have a chair in my house that has had a loose screw for the past 3 months, but I've not fixed it yet because I've simply forgotten to pick up the right tool to complete the job. So what do you rely on? Wings, figuratively speaking of course.
Using your wings should be the only thing that makes any sense when everything around you is so unpredictable. You fly and you have at the back of your mind that the branch you land on is nothing but a stopping point until your next flight.
I see that so many people wait until someone else tells them good job prior to taking action. That's a waste of time if you ask me. I had a small argument with a mechanic last week regarding a fan belt and he was rude as hell. But I'm on a spiritual growth journey of self control so I had to let it slide and it's good because I didn't embarrass myself by talking back. The most important thing is that you must know your own mind. If you don't trust your own legs, then you won't cross a bridge when it appears too old to use. Sometimes the bridge really is old, but in order for you to make it to the other side of the bridge, you have to cross over it anyways.
