Nose Pull is one of the Native Youth Olympics events that seems strange to many people at first. Alaska Native people created it as the other game in their challenging discipline tradition.

I was touching my nose feeling the bone on my nose while watching this horror. To me it ain't a sport it's horror. I will share the video at the end, look at the guy's face after the match.

You meet the partner and sit down in front of him. A rope of a certain length is placed on the noses of the pair. You start pulling backward with the force directed. The goal is simple, and the victory is achieved when the opponent’s rope finally slips off or when one person gives up. It may seem like a tense moment but trained players handle this task extremely carefully. But please it's not something you should do at home. Even writing about it, I need to be careful otherwise I might get flagged as NSFW.

The point of the game is to establish discipline. You live in a small community in the Arctic, and everything in your life tells you always to be calm in times when it seems unbearable. These games provide you with the opportunity to practice exactly this. You see and feel breathing, clear thinking and respect for the person playing in front of you.

You may think that Nose Pull is a game of power and power only. However, this game entails more, you observe patience and endurance in action. You see self control at the highest peak. You see two men challenging each other in a safe environment but the game itself is far from safe.

It's definitely possible to pass out if you stretch yourself beyond your own limits.

The nose pull allows the players to learn about the values that govern people in Alaska. You see how peculiar traditions contribute to rules and strength. You understand that getting nervous when people tell you that you can lose or win more is another opportunity.

Eventually the people that keep getting into this match will turn into Voldemort, no nose at all
