Who else feels this way about 2025?

2025 has been as strange as it can get. I promise, I really promise, I won't bring up Charlie Kirk.

This year the AI industry made big breakthroughs. We can use AI in making serious decisions like who gets loans or medical help. However, we do know that the system still ain't perfect so mistakes will happen and no one can fully control them. The machines are getting more power, I'm not talking about their CPU, I'm talking about power over our own decisions. I'll try to be as optimistic as possible but this can turn out pretty bad if we are not careful.

Then we have climate disasters. In Bali, heavy rains resulted in the worst floods that has ever happened in over ten years. So many people died, homes and properties were destroyed. The report is that climate change is making disasters stronger and harder to predict. So all the things we've done to contribute to climate change is gathering together to bite us back. But like I said, I'll be optimistic.

We had cyber attacks too. Some huge companies were hacked. Well it's their problem not mine, but you see when a company gets hacked it's also the customers that are in danger, so still our problem. Infact, some websites tricked people into giving money to fake investments. Millions of people were affected in this and it is evidence of how fragile our systems can be. We may have advanced but so have the exploiters.

In Nepal, a group of young people used social media to protest against corruption and that protest led to the prime minister resigning. You're not in Nepal are you? Well maybe that's not bad news for you.

Get online and you'll unintentionally start doomscrolling, there's a lot of bad news. But there's also good news, you're alive and reading this article so that's something to be grateful for right?

I lived through the year and experienced more success than any other year. I guess that's how life works. Some bad news mixed with good news. Somebody's celebrating and somebody is suffering.

There's hope as long as you're alive and you choose not to give up.
