Why you really don’t want to mess with a Cape Buffalo
There's a reason they call Cape buffalo the black death or widow makers. You can see why if you watch a proper animal documentary of these beasts. Cape buffalo are massive animals that can weigh up to 2,000 pounds each. And they're not just by themselves running around, they usually travel in herds or groups of about 500 or more. If you do the math, you can see how there are probably a few million pounds of buffalo stampeding toward you if something goes wrong. I wouldn't want that even in my nightmares.
Cape buffalo can also run really fast up to 40 miles per hour. That's pretty much faster than most of us can even run, even when you're scared and panicking and adrenaline magically gives you extra speed. So, getting away from that animal is definitely not an option.
What I see as the most fascinating thing is that the Cape Buffalo has a great memory too, and some reports state that the buffalo will track down a lion that killed one of its young, even if that event happened years ago. Yes, I said years, the Cape Buffalo appears to hold grudges longer than I could even remember mine.

The Cape buffalo is considered to be one of the most aggressive types of animals in the African continent. They may not be the biggest or flashiest of the African animals, I would argue they're probably one of the animals that you'd want to avoid at all costs. The lions and elephants seem to get a lot of attention because of their size and beauty, the Cape buffalo just looks pretty pissed off all the time and they'll probably charge at you instantly it they feel you're a threat.
I'm not exactly sure what causes these animals to be so revengeful, you can call it intelligence or instinctive behavior, just don't mess with a Cape buffalo if you don't understand their behavior.
