The Pull of Passion: Why I Became Fond of Writing

Have you ever asked yourself why you do certain things or when you started developing an interest in them? Earlier, I asked myself why I enjoy writing and when this interest began.

I am a talkative person, I love chatting with friends during my free time, and I am active in group chats because I truly enjoy communicating with people. In the future, when I am ready, I really want to have a podcast where I can casually chat with people about life issues and various topics.

There was a time when I avoided engaging in conversations with others. Not to brag, but many people wanted to talk to me, finding it enjoyable and gaining lessons while feeling comforted by our conversations.

The reason I avoided chatting is that I noticed some people didn't consider whether I was busy or engaged in something. I had been too accommodating, and they no longer thought about the time they spent talking to me. There came a point where they didn't respect my time, perhaps because I had always been responsive.

This might be one of the reasons why I enjoy writing. When you write, and someone reads and asks a question in the comments, you have the choice not to respond immediately.

That's the first reason. The second reason is that, yes, I often engage in conversations, but what my conversation partners and I frequently talk about is their lives and the advice I can give.

Often, people who chat with me seek opinions or advice on their lives. Sometimes, I have topics I want to share, but there's no one to talk to or no right person to talk to. So, I thought that if I write, my writings might find the right person who should read them.

Isn't that how it is nowadays? We have life questions, and sometimes we accidentally find the answers we're looking for online. So that's how it happened, I became fond of expressing my thoughts and opinions through writing.

However, unlike in personal conversations with people I know, I am cautious about my online topics. In this age of cancel culture and keyboard warriors, even if what you say is correct, if it offends someone, be prepared for severe criticism. They'll dig into your life to expose your flaws just to express their anger.

Although I haven't reached the point where many people read what I write, since I write online, it's possible that people might find what I write and it could unexpectedly become trending for the wrong reasons.

I don't intend to offend anyone with my writings, and just because someone is offended doesn't mean the content is wrong. It's possible that some simply don't want their mistakes highlighted, and the words used in the content hit too close to home.

I haven't offended anyone with my writings yet, but if that time comes, I'll probably just smile and tell myself, "Hey, I'm famous now!" Hahaha!

It's funny that even though I managed to avoid excessive personal and face to face conversations, I still found a way to communicate with people through my writings.

I have many hobbies in my life, and some I still do occasionally, but I think writing and engaging in conversations with people are the ones I won't tire of.

Hopefully, in the future, I'll gather the courage to create a podcast that addresses common problems people face in life. People often already know the answers to their problems, but they just want to hear someone else's perspective.

What about you? When did you develop a fondness for writing? And what do you often write about? Feel free to share your story in the comment section.

Through writing, we can express our feelings and emotions. We can give some lofty ideas and information to other people that might be very important to them. 😊

And through writing, I can always speak my mind even if no one is asking. Hahaha!
