A combination of blackcurrant and malai.

Good afternoon to all the sweet-loving friends of the Hive community. Today I am going to share with you a feeling that will not only make your tongue water but also give a strange thrill to the hearts of sweet-lovers. When I stepped into a familiar roadside sweet shop with a tired body in the afternoon, my eyes were caught by this scene arranged behind the glass counter. We are usually used to seeing blackberries in round or long shapes. But here, the blackberries have been expertly cut from the middle and a beautiful layer of white malai or kheer has been given inside. Powdered mawa or fine sugar grains are sprinkled on top, looking like light flakes of ice on a winter morning. It was impossible to control myself when I saw this amazing color contrast of dark brown and pure white. When the dessert was brought to me on a plate, it was really hard to control my greed.

As I gently cut it with a spoon, I realized how soft and juicy the dessert was. What happened in my mouth was an explosion of flavor. The black jam on top was wonderfully juicy and perfectly sweet. And right after that, when the Malai part started melting in the mouth, the intensity of the sweetness turned into a strange and magical taste. The light salty sweetness of the kheer and the juice of the black jam combined to create such a heavenly feeling. It made me forget everything around me for a few seconds. We eat a lot of sweets but there are some sweets that not only fill the stomach but also touch the heart. This Malai Kalojam duo was just such an experience. Every bite was wrapped in the taste of pure ghee and utmost care. For those who love sweets, this Malai-Kalojam or Chamchom Khirsagar is a must-try.
