Steem Honey Badger - Performance Poem for Justin Sun - Plus Memes to Create Dreams
This is perhaps the only time I've ever done what I'm about to do... which is post a poem I've already published on steem blockchain. Yesterday I wrote and created a video reading for a competition that had to be posted in the OCD community.
But I wanted the subscribers at The Ink Well to see this poem as I think it's a decent example of free verse in the performance style, which is a good fit for our new weekly poetry prompt:
Thursday's Poetry Challenge - As Free as a Bird
This poem is my entry into the poetry prompt/challenge around the theme of freedom. It is a poem that challenges Justin Sun to think about the freedom he is trying to take away from the artists and writers of this place we've decided to call home.
It's an angry poem and a protest poem, but above all an expression of my freedom to highlight that we are up for the fight.
That we are honey badgers who have teeth and claws!
Unfortunately, the developers of steem are understandably distracted at the moment with all the Tron drama, so they still haven't managed to program a function that allows users to publish a single post simultaneously to more than one community.
But to make this post more than just a re-post, I have included the added bonus of a text version of this performance poem (not released in the competition post) and an original (unseen) meme I plan on using to spam Binance on twitter to further shame Changpeng Zhao (CZ) founder and CEO, for his actions helping Justin Sun with his attempted hostile takeover.
Please feel free to download this meme and post it to any of Binance's tweets.
But enough of that steem jibber-jabber... lets get into the poetry. Below is the YouTube performance of my poem Steem Honey Badger.
You may think you can buy
Each and everyone
Of us with your Tron millions
And the lies that drip
From your lips like honey,
But here’s what’s funny
You’ve messed with a
DPOS community
Not bought a profit opportunity
Our unity and strength will
Show you true decentralized immunity
DPOS and consensus continuity.
we have claws and teeth!
You might think it’s just a bit of fun
To try and destroy the community I built
I dipped my pen in The Ink Well
And I wouldn’t sell out the people
I’ve empowered like you would…
Without a shred of guilt.
Blockchain throng of DPOS warriors,
I’m a poet, and I’m strong
not a fucking slave
To Tron corporate followers
Or your sock puppet witnesses,
We are steem, we are synthesis
Of artists, writers, poets and fighters
you will never capture or enrapture,
or bribes us with your fucking
PR lying jibber jabber.
steemit is dead,
and we have the will to flag you
until you stop your madness,
we are steem honey badgers.

A Meme can make dreams happen, especially in internet land lol. Or in this case it can make nightmares happen for the PR department and social media marketing managers of Tron and Binance.
Hey, I know we're all writers here and most steemians gave up on places like Facebook and Twitter many moons ago, but If you do enjoy a jaunt around the 'low attention span' universe that is twitter, throw my meme at them. If enough people from steem bombard them with comments, memes and generally highlight what they've done, we can force Tron into an uncomfortable place where they may back down from all the bad press.
Lets sock it to Emmm 😉
Thanks for reading this odd combination of poetry and social media meme-ery 😆
P.s. this post will only be published to The Ink Well community, not my blog and 30% of rewards will go to the @theinkwell account as a beneficiary.

We now also have a curation trail set up so if you are a SteemAuto user, search for 'theinkwell' (all one word) and it is available as a community trail to follow.

This is totally beautifully, the way it internally rhymed showed how much hardwork you put into it, it was constructed carefully, the alliterations were lit, the manner at which it climaxed was epileptic to the core.
This was the highest point for me, it felt like musical reading it aloud, it could make for a wonderful satarical sound track. And that's for adding the video format. Amazing stuff here my friend.
Cheers Jose.
This fantastic feedback makes my day as I've been having a little bit of a hard time with things the past 3 days. I feel like when I get going writing performance poetry it can be some of my strongest work.
But for some crazy reason the spirit only takes me occasionally. Lol, mainly when I'm angry, which I was when I wrote this poem. It is like the internal rhymes and alliteration that creates that kinda rapping style just flow when I'm pissed off 😂
I was super happy with the reading yesterday after I filmed it appart from where I stumble for a millisecond in the second to last verse over the word enrapture
Still, if life were perfect it would be boring. The stumble maybe even shows how pissed I am lol
my fav part is that section:
Anyway, cheers again for taking a listen and joining me in my Tronit performance poetry rant 😉
What do I know, it's often frustrating when you want to get some pieces out but it just don't work out really, this one was like spitting fire lol occasionally do try to get more angry, it could spur you on more. As for me I write better when I'm saddest I don't know why however I do believe we have different things that brings out the creativity.
In essence I feel those rhymes and the carefully selected words that went with them was a high point by all means.
Your favourite part was great I however felt my favourite part was like the apex.
Beautiful piece again wow

Hey Raj,
Your skill on display. I could listen to this ten times, pick up the cadence and perhaps myself rhyme. You see it's contagious :) I hope you feel better. So hard to produce when you're fighting to just be on even keel with your body.
Wish I could offer advice. Try to stay calm and peaceful. It's the best thing you can do for yourself.
With very warm regard,
AG
Oh yes thank you for this! It's much easier for me to read than to listen, I can chew on each line, and better understand the whole.
We've got this, especially with your fighting so hard for us all. Thank you.
